    Personally I'd get out of the maintenance contract and either keep the one you've got, or if the company is funny about it, get a new system fitted, ideally re-using the wiring to save on cost if it's still ok.

    You don't want to be paying out for maintenance - there's very little to maintain, just a couple of rechargeable batteries to change every few years. You can do the bell and sensor checks yourself.


    Some insurance companies require that you have a burglar alarm, and that it is serviced every year. Don't forget to consider that issue.
