British Gas HomeCare want to cancel agreement after claim

  • I'd suggest the original installation was poorly designed (by BG) if the faulty cylinder could not be isolated without turning off the supply to the whole flat. The more I read about this the less I think of BG.

I hope you get suitable recompense OP.

I don't think the op wanted to risk turning on the main again, as it would upset the neighbours below with water dripping/pouring from their ceiling.

When turning the water back on it takes a few mins to start leaking again. And even when you turn the water off, it's still leaks out for a few mins!

Bloody pressurized cylinders! Don't last as long as the old ones

Yes, but I'd hope a good plumber wouldn't have left his customer in that position, even if he had to make some temporary alterations to the pipework so at least he kitchen cold tap worked.

This is BG homecare dont forget.

What better way to sell a £4K+ install than to leave to customer without water in a heatwave.

My totally inexpert advice would be to get your new system looked at by a one man band & check what they have messed up on. The massive wad you have paid over the years to BG could have paid for annual services & your brand new boiler without having to layout an extra over £4k.

You would also be astonished at the parts they can supply which do not seem to be available to British Gas.
