Brand new Hoover washing machine, first time use I get the E03 error! What now?

Hey all, I bought a hoover washing machine had it delivered on Thursday. I used it for the first time earlier today and it stopped an hour in giving me the 'E03' error.
The machine was still full with water. No drain hose on this brand new model for whatever reason so had to pull the filter out to check for blockage. Pretty much all the water started gushing out! So after a hefty mopping up I had to prop the machine onto bricks and carefully drain the water via the filter into a container. I could find no blockage in the filter and the drain hose was bone dry inside so no water had passed through that whilst the machine was running.
My main concern is do I contact AO or is it Hoover? I'm not sure if AO sell you the machine then you have to deal with the manufacturer yourself for an issue like this. I can only assume it is a fault with the machine. Any advice would be great.

If there's no drain hose, how does the water leave the machine?
And then there is a drain hose ... confused ...
Have you read the instruction manual?
Have you googled? Who installed the washing machine? Was there an empty space where you've installed it? If there was, there's probably a cap on the pipe the drain hose drains into (TYVM google!)
If none of that helps, always start with the seller.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Sounds like you've set it up wrong. It has to have drainage or it would just fill with water and do as you describe.0

What does the manual say E3 means?
And have you removed all the transport bolts? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -

Should the error code E3 appears it is warning that the machine is not draining. You can easily fix this problem by removing any blockages from the drain pump situated at the front of the machine for easy access.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

I'm guessing that the OP is referring to the little drain hose that is beside the filter cap on some machines. You unhook the drain hose and place it in a shallow container to manually drain the machine before unscrewing the filter cap.
Perhaps the actual output hose is kinked.0 -
Yes, the OP must be referring to the small drain hose used to clear the machine before the filter is cleared.
My money is on there being a kink in the drain hose or it's being pinched behind the machine or it's been connected to the sink pipework incorrectly, perhaps without the "n bend" that's needed to stop sink water running down the drain hose and effectively blocking it?0 -
Which model is it, icicat? Think I would contact Hoover for advice in the first instance if the manual doesn't help.0

Thanks for the replys all. yes as JohnB47 said I was refering to the little hose at the front. Why this is not included on their most recent models I have no idea as draining the water via the filter is a disaster as it is too low and cannot be caught with any container.
I tried a spin and drain cycle and something was off. After the cycle completed I pulled out the hose from the sink drain spriget and realised the bloody cap was still on the spigot!! So water could not get past. So my fault really. My only concern is if I have damaged the washing machine as there was a bit of a burn rubber wiff afterwards. Would the water just keep going back into the machine if the spigot was blocked? How much damage would this have done? might have to jump on to hoover or AO's after care plan after this ordeal.0 -
Ahhhh, good news.
I wouldn't worry - the machine will have correctly detected that it hadn't emptied after a set amount of time running the pump.
Any smells are normal for the first few washes in a brand new machine. If the smell gets worse, then a callout would be wise (under the warranty).
BTW, have you taken out extended warranty? I no longer go for the stores extended warranty - I find that the manufacturer often has a better deal and I take that out once I've had the machine delivered.0 -
Asking most likely a stupid question but you did remove the packing bolts when you installed the machine.0
