I love spag bol but I'm being stubborn and refusing to pay full price for meat. I've not found any ys mince for a while and only have 1 left in the freezer, so I'm saving it for a special occasion
We ended up having the soup tonight. I did a little bit of batch cooking (mainly for lunch boxes) and made the leek & potato soup for tomorrow, and had started prepping some cheese and onion bread. Then I decided I was feeling too ill and couldn't be bother cooking a roast today, so we tucked into the soup and bread. Even DC2 who does like soup or onions had 2 bowls of soup, and loads of the bread. DH has asked for more soup nights, so that suits me.
I'd already started some beef in the slow cooker, so we'll have that tomorrow. I'm working from home so can prep some veg to go with it at lunch time.
I made a £10 sale today and have agreed £15 for an item to be collected tomorrow. Also managed to list 2 more item that had been cluttering up the kitchen.2 -
Sounds great on the soup front. Hope you all feel better soon. Well done on the sales. I'm hoping one of us gets up in time to put stuff out for charity tomorrow. Just want rid really.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I've spent the last 2 days searching for 1 special earring. I was wearing them last week expecting to go out for our anniversary. I took them out before driving DC3 to hospital and left them on top of a unit. When I looked yesterday, there's only 1 there. I've checked under the unit, shaken off the rug, emptied the hoover, searched through the kitchen bin, emptied DC3s toy cabinet and inside every one of his toys. No sign. I'm gutted.

feel your pain - it will have dropped somewhere - so don't do anything rash with the one left over for a while.
Hope it turns up soon for youI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I've been feeling really low today. I think it's just the chaos of the last few weeks catching up with me and think I'll be ok after a lazy weekend.
DC3 was rushed back into hospital last week. He helped himself to a crunchy nut cornflake at a relatives house and, being allergic to nuts, had an immediate reaction. Luckily, this was just before I arrived to pick him up after work. He was lying on the floor and we thought he was hiding & just didn't want to go home. I picked him up and realised there was something wrong & was able to administer his meds, but they didn't work like they usually do. So it was a 999 call and he was taken to hospital. He's back home again now, and back to his usual cheeky self.
My earring hasn't turned up, we're in local lockdown, the weather's miserable, our roof is leaking again, and I'm struggling to budget this month.4 -
Hugs to you @WelshKitty85. That's horrible for you. Hope our DC3 is OK now.2

Hugs WelshKitty - sounds a tough, scary situation. Good that you arrived when you did.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you both. This week's going better so far. The sun was shining on both of my days off so we managed a couple of walks. The sunshine and fresh air have done me a world of good. Yesterday's walk took us via the local bakery and sweet shop. I was £15 lighter on the way home, but happy to support 2 local businesses (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).
I've had a small pay rise, about £45 a month but it's been backdated to April. I've also had a £36 tax refund. It will reduce our UC entitlement this month, but we should still be better off overall.
It's my birthday this weekend. DH has banned me from cooking on my birthday and instructed me to choose a takeaway. I haven't decided what we'll have yet, but am swaying towards Indian. Our local zoo is doing half price entry for locals (as we're in local lockdown) so I'm thinking about spending the day there. It will cost £20 for the lot of us & we could pick up something cheaper to eat on the way home. Decisions, decisions!!3
