Amazon 'One-Day Delivery'

Options
Hopefully this is in the correct category...

I've purchased a Prime Dash Button.
I pressed it.
Next day... Nothing arrives.

I complain to Amazon as the delivery option is 'Prime: One-Day Delivery'.
They advise me that it is 'One-Day' AFTER the date of dispatch. As stated here: (link removed as new user, search Amazon help for 'About One-Day Delivery').

Can someone explain to me how they can be so misleading with the English language?
In my world, 'One-Day Delivery' simply meant it would take a day to arrive.
Why press the 'convenient' button, if I don't know when the sodding product is then going to turn up. I thought the premise was that it would turn up tomorrow........

/RANT.

Thanks!

    About One-Day Delivery
If you place your order with One-Day Delivery, depending on the time of day that you place your order, if in stock it'll be dispatched that same day and delivered the next day.

One-Day Delivery is offered as the default delivery option for Amazon Prime customers. If you're an Amazon Prime member and your order is eligible for One-Day delivery, there'll be no delivery charge for your order. This delivery option is automatically selected for Amazon Prime members. If you're not an Amazon Prime member you can choose to have your order delivered by One-Day delivery. Details of the cost will be provided before you complete your order.

If you aren't an Amazon Prime member you'll be charged £5.99 per delivery. Pay monthly mobile phones and SIM cards are dispatched via One-Day Delivery at no extra charge.

See more information about Prime delivery benefits here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/b?node=12615376031.

Note: A signature may be required on delivery of your order. You can find a list of postcodes not eligible for One-Day Delivery here.

If you choose One-Day Delivery, your order will be dispatched with the intention that it's delivered one day after dispatch. Parcels going to residential addresses might be delivered on Sundays and some UK Bank Holidays. Weekends are excluded for orders that include alcohol or kitchen knives. We use a range of carriers to provide our One-Day service and delivery time frames may vary by carrier, but all deliveries will be attempted by 21:00. After placing your order you can check the delivery date of your order from Your Account.

So I pressed the button at 11:40AM on Friday. The expected delivery is apparently Tuesday 24th July.

    It just doesn't make sense?
How can they market 'One-Day Delivery' but claim that it's only 'One-Day' after dispatch? Why would I press the convenient button if they're gonna wait 4 days to dispatch it.....

I'm not sure if you're agreeing here or? You quote

The item WAS in stock, as I checked the site before purchase, as it was the first press and I wanted to make sure it was going to go through properly.

    Soooo....

Do you live in a remote part of the UK?

    What is the item?

Depends how remote is defined? I've never had delivery troubles due to that reason before, so I can't imagine so.

Order was for a pack of Heineken, with the Heineken Dash Button.

I am not remote, near the border of Devon and Cornwall. If I view 24 x 330ml Heineken whilst logged out it says delivery by Tuesday 24 July. If I log in with my Prime account the date is Thursday 26 July. Therefore it's logical to me that the item is in a warehouse/distribution point that isn't able to deliver to my area on their next day service.

    Heineken Dash Button.

Is this button something you've purchased from Amazon? Is it a piece of hardware whose only function is to order you more Heineken?

Edit - I've Googled and see it now. That's quite unbelieveable. You paid £4.99 for a button that orders beer. One brand of beer. And nothing else. What's wrong with ordering it on their website?! Or going to a shop and actually buying it?

Human laziness (and ability to part with cash) knows no bounds.
