Not a very sensible way of load balancing having everyones car start charging at 11pm.

You could have all french cars start at 12am
All german cars start at 11pm
All UK cars start at 1am.

    etc :rotfl:

Knowing software cockups the french and UK cars would start at the same time during BST :p

A more sensible way would be to say Mr S needs his car at 9am
and Mr P at 7am. So Mr P car would be charged first.

Some people have to go outside in the pouring rain to read their meters.

Meter reading in Winter can be a real pain,
It’s a drudge going out in the cold and the rain.

Have a couple of smart meters said British Gas,
If you don’t , you’re missing out,.. and you’ll feel like an a*s.

So I took their advice and had smart-meters installed,
No chance of me being left behind and black-balled!

All was well and I felt part of the crowd,
as my accurate readings were sent off into the ‘cloud’.

I should have known that this fools-paradise would not last,
‘coz when I swopped companies things went downhill fast.

My lovely Smart meters were struck ‘dumb’ overnight,
and they’ll stay ‘dumb’ forever,…now that can’t be right !

    If you don’t take a reading soon you’ll end up with an estimated bill;

…they’re forecasting thundery showers in Shropshire all day on Friday so I would do it then.

You may not get another chance for weeks. :money:

    I've braved the heat luckily.

Does not quite "scan", I think you'll agree but that is bloody brilliant. I think it should be in the next weekly email.

The National Audit Office’s follow-up Smart Meter report is now scheduled for Autumn 2018 so there is still time to have your say;:D:D

…if you feel so inclined you can provide ‘evidence’ for their study team by emailing them at enquiries@nao.org.uk (put “Smart Meters” in the email subject line)

I'd imagine their 'inbox' has been fit to bust in recent months! :rotfl:

Yesterday I submitted my amateur rhyme (post #43) to the National Audit Office as evidence for their ‘Smart Meter’ study team and this morning I got a personal reply:

“Thank you for your email. We don’t often get feedback in verse – it certainly cheered me up!

We have passed it on to the team carrying out the Smart Meters study. The team will consider the evidence you provide; however, please note that due to the volume of information they receive we may not respond to you directly.

    Thanks again and best regards.

National Audit Office, Red 2, 157-197 Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria, London, SW1W 9SP”

….a bit of frivolity on my part of course but it’s good to know they actively monitor any ‘evidence’ delivered to their ‘inbox’ and will give it a degree of personal attention. :D

I'm sure that cheered them up. Glad they have a sense of humor. :rotfl:

    Just had an amusing email.
    Your smart meter installation notice

SSE is engaged in a country-wide programme that aims to replace traditional energy meters with smart meters. We!!!8217;re currently offering a free smart meter installation from 6 August 2018.

You!!!8217;re eligible for an immediate upgrade to a more advanced meter, this means you can choose to secure your installation now.
  • I am getting a bit fed up with all the TV adverts and newspaper articles on the "benefits" of Smart Meters. All this is our money that could be taken off our bills. Personally I would like to see a section on my bill telling me how much I am paying towards these things.

Yes its an absolute joke all this advertising.

They should wait until they have a good product to sell. SMTE2
Advertising at the moment is just ruining the reputation and wasting a lot of money
