    Morning all,

Despite being a miserable grouch at the moment i'm so grateful i have my health. Health is something i dont take for granted. Poppy i'm thinking of you right now. Sending you many hugs.

Didnt sleep well last night. Took me ages to get off and when Grump woke me at 3 it took me ages to get off again.

Nothing planned for my day except to keep out of Grumps way. He's painting door frames and skirting boards.

Hope the date went well Speky

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Morning lovelies
Well the sun is back after the rain yesterday. It wasn't much, just enough to damp the floor and freshen the air.
I didn't have a very good night, my brain was in overdrive and I was coughing and sneezing, so I was late getting up. I shall be playing catch up all day today but I don't have a lot of energy either :(. We shall see how the plan in my head reacts with the plan in my body :rotfl:.
This morning I have stripped the bed, emptied the DW and put the breakfast things in. I had some clothes washing, so I decided to put the dining room tablecloth in too, don't know why as Dad will probably dirty it again tomorrow..... he's worse than a child when he's eating ! The bedding will go in next.
As I blitzed the downstairs yesterday, I want to do upstairs this afternoon and there is always something in the ironing basket should I feel bored .
Mr Fix It has been painting the outhouse door and it stinks, I don't know why gloss paint makes such a smell, it's supposed to be low odour too.
DD and DGC have finished school for the summer, so they are happy bunnies. However my SIL still has another 2 days next week, to say he's not impressed is an understatement ( same education authority, different schools )
Right the WM has finished so I shall hang out the contents.
Have a good Saturday everyone, whatever your plans.
I shall send extra hugs to the TA's and Lainey's SIL.
Well done to dp1's DD on her graduation
Redruby Yuck ! rather you than me, I hate flies of any sort.
Take care and the hug bucket is full should you need one, please help yourselves.
    nan xx

Youngest dd and bf and middle dd and her bf came round last night and stayed over which was lovely.
Had a shower and then made us all breakfast and loaded the dishwasher while younger dd and bf drove off to visit an older dd who has been poorly.

Waiting for youngest to get back and then I think we are going out for lunch and a drive to Harrogate unless plans change. No word from older dd who is due to have her baby in about a week so fingers crossed.

The sky looks very dark so it might rain later but the forecast has been rain for a few days now and no result.

    Poppy

I am so sorry about your news and have my fingers crossed for you.

I would be tempted to put an oilcloth on the table if there is always such a mess made. I did that with the kitchen table when the children were small.

    Hugs to all
  • My OH is not the tidiest of eaters either, I bought a metre and a half of plastic table cloth from Boyes and have that on the table at all times. The dining room table, which is now in the kitchen, is also the right height for rolling out pastry etc, so I give it a good clean beforehand and again when I have finished. If we have visitors I put a pretty coth over the top. Works for me.

The gardener has just turned up, the back grass has been cut and he is now tackling the growth from the hedge on our side. It was badly burnt some years ago, but bits of it have started growing again. I plan to get a rambling rector rose and just let it ramble over it as it will, at least we will have flowers and no longer be able to see the bare bits!! Salad for supper prepped, just have the quiche to do a bit later and then let it cool down.

Poppy just basically "ditto to what the other posters have said". Have a Wolfy (((HUG))).

Mr LW has been using the lap-tray I got for using the netbook on the sofa, to eat his meals off (we have no dining table) as he's finding that a lot easier than just a plate on his lap, which is what we've done for 16 years. I figured a tray would benefit me too, so I've bought a 2nd lap-tray from @mazon, which arrived this morning. It's got meerkats on it. :D

Salad for dins yet again. I'm alternating between egg, veggie sausage, and cheese as the "main ingredient". Egg today.

I bet he wants veggie toad-in-the-hole tomorrow, despite the heat; as that's our Usual Sunday Fare. *rolls eyes*

  • REDRUBY One day last summer I opened the door from the kitchen to the garage to find the two windows out there absolutely covered in flies. Ugh I shut the door quick smart before they got into the kitchen. I was told they were cluster flies - maybe that's the same as thunder flies? I kept dashing out and spraying them liberally with fly spray and dashing back in again. It took a day or two but I finally saw the end of them. Horrible things!

Got all items on my list from town this morning - and more besides! Came back like a packhorse! I have just sorted out all the paperwork as I promised myself I would. More phone calls to make Monday to sort things out. I used to be classed as Mr TA's secretary but I am getting to the stage where the secretary now needs a secretary.

I have just been rubbing his legs and feet with the aromatherapy samples DD's friend made up for him. She recommends Frankincense and Copaiba oil for pain and inflammation. Nothing to lose by trying it out but not expecting any miracles and it does smell rather nice if nothing else!

It's feet up now whilst watching some action from the Tour de France. Mr TA watches it for the race, I watch it for the French scenery and gorgeous chateau along the route! Wishing I was there.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx

TA even a nice scent can be uplifting, so that in itself may make Mr TA feel a little better. :o

We get some lovely incense sticks from Wyrdo's, a shop in the next town, which I burn in the evenings.

I don't use them when we have doggies staying though, as doggy noses are very sensitive, and they'd find it overpowering.
