Mamma Mia was good thanks. A little sad in some places and I had a few tears in my eyes. The HT also enjoyed it despite my singing along in parts :D

School is finished for 6 weeks now so the HT is a happy boy. All his friends have been arguing for the last couple of weeks so I think they are all tired and need a break from each other.

I have the first lot of washing in the machine. It rained here for most of yesterday so the garden looks better but it wasn't a good drying day. It seems to be brightening up a bit this morning so I'm hopeful for line drying.

Hugs to Mr & Mrs TA. Fingers crossed that Monday's appointment results in some positive action.

    Good morning everyone
Today is the first day of my 6 weeks holidays so I'm in bed with my breakfast. I've promised myself a nice lazy day today.
It was my eldest DDs graduation at Leeds on Thursday...we had the loveliest day...I'm so very proud of her....her course was very difficult towards the end but she made it. We went by train on Wednesday afternoon and went out for a couple of cocktails and then had to be at the uni at 8am for a 9.30 start on Thursday morning.. It was a gorgeous sunny day so I took loads of lovely outside photos. We went for an excellent lunch afterwards and a couple more cocktails.
I hope your grandson's day was as special JackieO
Yesterday my DD had an interview in London which she says seemed to go well. Another long day for her....7 hours on the train and just 4 hours in London!
We had rain all day yesterday which was good for the gardens and fields....but I'm hoping the sun comes out today so I can sit outside. I know a lot of people are sick of the heat now but I'd be happy if it lasted for the whole of the summer holidays.
Hope everyone has a good day

Forgot to say...DD and I are planning to go and see Mamma Mia 2 on Thursday. I don't know how many times I've watched the first one!

    Good morning everyone :hello:
I dreamed I won the lottery last night so I nearly broke my neck rushing to put the computer on this morning to check my emails, sadly no but the feeling was nice while it lasted :D:D. It's very peaceful here this morning apart from Max squeaking his froggy toy very loudly.

I'm still feeling very positive especially after having a good day yesterday. I am going to take it one day at a time and hopefully get somewhere with it this time. Steve is in the shower but when he comes downstairs he is going to make dippy eggs and soldiers for breakfast which is my favourite.

We all need to have a clean up in the house today as it hasn't been hoovered for a week and the carpets look very hairy. I will clean the loos and the others can take a room each and sort it. It should only take an hour or so then and it will look a whole lot better.

Chicken fajitas for tea tonight with extra peppers and onions. Shopping is being delivered this afternoon with lots of fruit and veg and then I will prep the pulled pork for tomorrow before I go to bed.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Polly - I am sorry to read that your cancer has reared its head again, You have made the right decision to put your move off. I wish I could have done the same when I had to have an emergency pacemaker a week before we were moving. I was fortunate in that my youngest daughter stepped up to the mark, she took a weeks leave and helped OH. I was so very grateful.

We had rain last night, OH reports the back grass is wet and there is about an inch of rain in one of the buckets that was emptied yesterday. It feels much fresher this morning.

My back is letting me know I spent a couple of hours driving yesterday, I could not let my neighbour down. Have taken pain killers and will take it steady today. No car rides planned for the next few days so hopefully it will improve a bit.

Quiche and salad for supper tonight, the rasps are almost finished we might get a few today but that will be it, OH will start cutting the fruited canes out.

Another scorcher in the making :j I must admit I am loving this weather I have got very used to sitting in the garden with a glass of wine in the evenings after work :D

Mind you I came home from work yesterday to something straight out of a horror film  we have a glass panel in the front door and as I walked up to it it looked kind of black from the outside, when I opened the door thousands and thousands of fly's swarmed out, they were all over the house _pale_ god knows where they came from, I phoned OH and he came back and hovered hundreds of them up, I wiped the sides down with disinfectant and double bagged the hoover bag and that's now in the bin, it was revolting and there was nothing that could have attracted them in, no food out or anything and the bin had been emptied the day before, it was really horrible :(

Onto today OH and I are off to near Guildford to collect dd's moving in present, I cant say what it is yet because she might read this, but its very lovely :j

Going to get some pork chops out for dinner tonight I think we might bbq them, need to go to the shops for some food too.

Polly I am sorry to hear your news xx

    Have good days all xx

Poppy, what the others said - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed things go smoothly.

Gers, you are very good. If it comes to it perhaps you could let out your cottage so that you could keep hold of it.

Dumpling - I got an email this morning so I had a few minutes of anticipation before I found that I had won £3.10 lol.

Thanks, those who asked. The Dr thinks it's a blocked gland but is sending him for blood tests and an ultra-sound. He also managed to get a couple of other minor things looked at which was good as they're usually strict about one appointment for one problem. Turns out he's got ringworm although was relieved to find out it's not actually a worm but a fungal infection like athletes foot.

We have had no rain and the forecast last night said we were likely to go up to 33 on Monday so no respite for us. We're at a hog roast tonight with friends we haven't seen for a while. One of them is undergoing chemo for leukaemia so hopefully he will be well enough. The poor man has undergone so much, this is his second bout of leukaemia and he had a severe stroke about 6 years ago which has left him with speech aphasia.

Not a lot else going on, I'm struggling with a few things at the moment so I'm finding it difficult to summon the enthusiasm to do things I don't have to and also to stop myself comfort eating.

redruby, how horrible, I had a similar experience a couple of years ago in my sewing room with no explanation as to where they came from.

Thank you for all your lovely messages you are all so kind. I am going to my Closely Knit Group shortly and then I really must do some housework. I invited a couple of friends for lunch tomorrow and the house is looking a bit neglected. I am trying to enjoy each day as it comes, just frightened about the future. My husband died a couple of years ago so feel a bit alone with this. Looking forward to seeing my son and family when they get back from New Zealand. I will see a big change in the children as they have been away for 3 months.
RED RUBY those flies sound like Thunder Flies, apparently they were breeding in our loft. A guy burnt a special 'bomb' up there and that did the trick

Good Morning chums and another scorcher on the way We did have a slight break in the weather yesterday with a bit of rain but not a great deal. But anything is better than nothing I looked at the long range forecast for my area of Kent and it looks set for at least another 10 days at least.

I'm just trying to work up the energy to strip and change my bedding as being a hot day I thought it will be a good idea to get them done and out on the line I hate changing duvet covers :):) Not being very tall I end up almost having a scrap with them :)

Just a bit of a pottering day today I think far too hot to do a lot, maybe its a feet up and read sort of day I didn't sleep very well last night I'm afraid the heat is very wearing as one gets older. I like it a few days at a time with a bit of cooler weather in between :):) Fussy begger aren't I

Hope all are well, and those that aren't, or are down and sad, have a <hug>

    Cheers chums
