I have seen this happen before, some dickturpin drives in the cross hatched area, all the stones and bits that drop off cars congregate there. Hopefully he damaged his tyres in the process.

Isn't calling it 'snitch footage' a bit pejorative?

there's nothing wrong with providing film evidence that can possibly be used by the police to make roads safer for all drivers.

There are too may dangerous and selfish oafs on our roads. Dashcam footage is an excellent way of fighting back.

The one running theme I've noticed with dashcam uploaders is that the majority of them seem completely oblivious to the fact they captured 2 idiotic drivers, not 1.

That is why you should never drive on cross hatchings. Most people think you can't drive on any of them, and all the road debris build up there.

I'm not the Police, and the solution to the above, like most of the petty crime that bothers ordinary people, is more visible Police about, not for me to join the Stasi. :D

Yes, in an ideal world, there would be more police about but we are not living in an ideal world.
In the real world we live in, passing on video evidence of dangerous driving to the police might be the only way to get any action taken against some of the drivers.

If it's dangerous then why can it be dealt with by fixed penalty notice?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Dangerous driving can't be dealt with by an FPN.

    I think that's his point.

The more likely charge is failing to adhere to a road sign, which is how solid white line offences are normally dealt with and possibly careless depending on how bad the driving is. Dangerous Driving is unlikely IMO

Overtaking on double white lines £100 and three points.

But AFAIK careless drVing can only be dealt with by a FPN if the driver is stopped at the time? So in the OP's case it would have to go to court.
