Can I restart in Safe Mode using Win 10.
I've tried pressing F8 on start up but Safe mode doesn't seem to work.

It's a shame there's no Function key to get it. It means that if you cannot already get into Windows you have to use either a Recovery disk or Installation disk or the "boot three times" method. If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

This ^^^^ W10 is a complete PITA if you need to get to Safe Mode...it's almost as if MS don't want people fixing problems caused by their hellspawn (that's W10 if in any doubt)
......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

You just type 'msconfig' in the search and open it up >boot>safe boot and you're in safe mode. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
Akchewlee it's quite simple so I found eventually.
You just type 'msconfig' in the search and open it up >boot>safe boot and you're in safe mode.
As was stated earlier, that's all fine'n'dandy IF YOU CAN GET INTO WINDOWS IN THE FIRST PLACE....the more ususal need for safe mode is on a machine that won't boot into Windows normally in the first place...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

isn't it easier to use windows recovery media on a usb? dont know how many times others have used safe mode or how long it has been available but i have only used it once in all the time (20+ years) i have been using windows."The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

when you fix computers, you can use it a lot....so much easier before UEFI to just tap F8 and select than it is now..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

interested to know why the op or others wanted to use safe mode. i have always thought it was mainly used if pc had a virus. in those (rare these days) circumstances i would just do a fresh install/factory reset
the old bios was ancient. i find the uefi a lot more user friendly"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -

Only on that site and that specific computer.
I tried using malwarebytes etc but they showed up to be clean so it was suggested I try mwb etc in safe mode. Still showed up to be clean.
Finally found it was a problem in an add on.It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
So booting to safe mode didnt make any difference?"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
