I've lost track of exactly how many have health issues/loved ones with health issues, so can I just pop a big pile of GWS vibes here, and you come and grab them? I don't want to list people, as I'm bound to unintentionally omit a name. :o
Today he is off with his DB again for another drive into the lower Dales and a fruit juice outside a nice pub in the sunshine. The wheelchair is getting it's first outing so I hope between them they cope ok with opening/folding it up and fitting it in the boot!
Ooh, exciting stuff! Has he got a chair that can be self-propelled? I insisted on that - even if I'm not strong enough to actually propel it any distance, I can put my hands on the large rear wheels and stop Mr LW hauling me off somewhere when I'm still trying to look at something/read an information plaque etc.

Re getting it in the car - we bought a Honda Jazz for just that reason; you can fold the back seats down, and the chair will stash neatly behind the front seats without having to remove the wheels. :o

Please let us know how he gets on - I for one would be interested, as I found getting my "chariot" to be so liberating! :o

ETA: A word to the wise - watch out for dog-poo on the pavement; if you're self propelling and it gets on the wheels, you get it on hands and sleeves too. Trust me, I know!! _pale_
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

LW, yuk, thank goodness I'v just finished lunch.

Just recovering from our walk, Ziggy was an absolute little madam. She ran off several times - once on to a (luckily quiet) country lane. The last time she ran into a field of sweetcorn which was being watered. She was gone about 5 minutes that time and then I saw her on the track about 50 yards away. She still wouldn't come and then she laid down so I had to walk up for her only to find her wallowing in a muddy pool only her head visible. I felt like a wrung out dishrag by the time I'd showered all the mud off her.

    Me too, bargain!

Whiteguineapig thank you. Apparently I must have been doing it for years, my dentist asked me if I did but how would I know if I do something in my sleep. Now the lower front teeth are quite damaged. Perhaps it will stop eventually. I was hoping that scalp psoriasis would have improved but it is still rumbling along. I think that will become less of a problem though it probably won't go completely and once it has settled I will have my hair cut, it is like a very long mess now.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Well the maiden voyage of the wheelchair never happened! Mr TA's DB arrived promptly and said we won't need to take your chair if I drop you right next the beer garden! So the chair stayed here and the grand launch has been postponed for another day. Champagne chilling in readiness!

BTW LAMEWOLF, yes it's a self propel. It's a G Lite Pro Excel which we were impressed with when we saw a lady zooming round the hospital in one last week! Sadly, as I mentioned the other day, it won't be getting self propelled (or even pushed!) from outside the front of our house - Steep hills in all directions!

It's been a busy busy day and finally collapsed for an hour. A big shop in Aldi, followed by a further stock up in Home B's. The store cupboard was looking much depleted with one thing and another .Putting it all away took forever and then the Bolognese Bake was to start on, ready to throw in the oven for when the starving DGDs descend. Fish, salad and baby pots for me. DD bringing her own veggie meal as back on a diet! No doubt a Nutrishake for Mr TA as it's a good way of getting 600 cals down him.

Have a nice evening folks xx

    Evening all
Ooooooh I'd love a trim behind ! :rotfl::rotfl:. Never going to happen though, mine's more a saggy rear :(
We had a day out today, we have been back to Trago Mills. Mr Fix It needed to source some roof sheets for the shed because we are fed up having to renew the felt every few of years. These sheets were quite expensive but they will last much longer, fingers crossed. I'm hoping that they will see us out ! Delivery is set for tomorrow.
We had lunch there too, it wasn't the best, I honestly wish I hadn't bothered and had a sandwich instead :(. The staff on the other hand, were very helpful and chatty. I also met a lady there ( in the loo ) who used to run a local girls church group where DD went and I volunteered. It was nice to see her again :). On the way home we could see 2 more fires had been started on the mountain above Trago and the fire engines were on their way along with the helicopter. I noticed in the local rag that our mountain has another fire on it too. It appears the first one was set deliberately by two 14 yr old girls, who in their infinite wisdom put photos of them starting it on FB . They wondered how they were caught and identified

I did a wash this morning before I left and it dried on the whirly, so I have just brought it in and I have now put the DW on.
For those interested in my wayward parent skills training - the first step is to get a muzzle on as best you can, the second step is to teach the parent to "Sit and Stay " Barbara Woodhouse style. :rotfl:Unfortunately the "nice" won't last for long, but I shall enjoy the peace and harmony while it does :D
Hope everyone has had a good Thursday whatever you have been doing. I shall send healing thoughts to the poorly and gentle hugs to all. TTFN.
