I would like to think he would appreciate the WOW 999 which is now displaying.
PeacefulWaters is a "MSE Hot Topic" and perhaps a small way of sending him off in MSE style.0 -
Really sad news. I always found PeacefulWaters to be a very level headed forum member and MSE will be the poorer for his passing.

Oh my word.
I have just read his blog and my eyes are full of tears.
What a brave man he was, and obviously loved and admired by many.
To die so young when you should be enjoying life is criminal.
My condolences to all his family especially Chris. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Read the blog and I think I must have some dust or something in my eyes.
I gathered from his posts that time was limited but it still comes as a shock.

I too am terribly sorry to hear this news; I so enjoyed reading Dave's posts and admired his bravery in sharing the challenges his cancer presented and the determination and positivity he maintained.
Farewell and thank you Peaceful Waters. Happy travels wherever the next chapter of life's journey takes you.0 -

Condolences to family and thanks Richard for the notice, very sad but not unexpected, in fact only yesterday I was thinking about what his lengthy absence here must signify.
But as well as the sadness there should be some celebration of such a skillful way to live, see the world, give valuable advice and finally pass on...Evolution, not revolution0 -
RIP Dave and condolences to your family. You'll be sorely missed on MSE, you were always a helpful and polite poster with a great attitude to life even in adversity.0
