Any suggestion for smallish laptop for travel

I currently have a Samsung NC10 which is very convenient to take away in a back pack whilst travelling. However, these days the size of the screen and resolution, plus the slow processing speed are becoming a problem. Over the years I have fitted an SSD and increased the memory but realistically can't squeeze anything else out of it.
Would welcome suggestions for something slightly bigger but not as large as a 15.6" display. Perhaps 13" or so. Just has to be slightly quicker than the NC10 as it will only be used for email and a bit of browsing when away. Quite happy to consider a refurb or even 2nd hand. Budget about £250 or so.
I don't want a Chromebook as I have a couple of small utilities that I need to run in Windows.
Anyone help with ideas please?

You could perhaps look at a second-hand Lenovo x201 laptop, which with a 128 GB SSD would come in at around £205?0

toshiba r930 are smallish and light and you should be able to pick one up for about £150 with ssd, or cheaper without ssd, but bigger screen than the nc10
panasonic did a Toughbook ages ago. They may have been tough, but they were not that reliable
dell e6410 were reliable and tougher than the Toshiba above, but were larger and about double the weight..
non have a 10" though. thought about a tablet, perhaps with a blutooth keyboard?0 -
For something up to date, you could do worse than one of these; DELL LATITUDE 13 3380 I3 6006U 2.0GHZ 4GB 128GB SSD 13.3 inch HD 90 DAY RTB WTY MLL848 Right on budget at £250 delivered.
They also have one with a scratch on the screen for £48 less.
Having Windows 10 Pro installed is handy.0 -
Guys,
I would like to thank you all for replying and it has given me great food for thought. I've looked at all the suggested pages and I think the one that would suit is the Dell Latitude E6430 14.1" screen. It comes with a 320GB hard drive but I have a spare SSD here which I could fit.
It's great to get such helpful replies.

the Dell Latitude E6430 would not have been my first choice, but they are reliable. They are heavy. I would say too heavy for me. Also the CPU varies from i3 to i7, though it should have an i5 or better. Think it should be about £100?
update the bios and make sure the correct disk mode is selected. We have had a few that the bios had a password on
The R930 are light, magnesium frame, could be nippier, but they are a pleasure to use and cart around
I would have opted for lattitude with the scratched screen0 -

How much will you pay for that? £125? Six years old already.0 -

I did look at the Inspiron I3 that you suggested but the one for £240 was listed as having a scratch on the screen. I couldn't see one for see one for £48 less.

6 years old isn't an issue. I'm still using a Thinkpad T400 circa 2007 which runs just fine with a SSD in.
?? I didn't quote you.
The mention of age referred mainly to the price.
Saying that, it's certainly better specified than my laptop.Though not exactly a Netbook replacement.
Thinkpad T400 is from mid 2008. Not sure why people regularly over-estimate the age of their devices.
The ACER ZG5 Netbook that I'm using to post here is also from mid 2008.0 -

You didn't answer my question.
The scratch listed there is a mistake. Someone obviously has copied it over from this one; https://mcscom.co.uk/product/dell-latitude-13-3380-i3-6006u-2-0ghz-4gb-128gb-ssd-13-3-hd-90-day-rtb-wty-xmll138/
If the other one had a fault, such as a scratch, it would be listed as; xmll848.
Not that I'm knocking your choice. The question was about the price you paid.0
