nannywindow, I admire your forbearance in not washing your hands of him!
LW, I missed Mr LW's diagnosis, the man next door has had Parkinson's for over 20 years (early-onset) and is still managing ok. I'm sending my best wishes to you both (don't do prayers).
We had torrential rain at the van last night, so much so that the awning collapsed under the weight of it. DH spoke to the dealer today who said that usually when this happens the awning needs replacing, I just hope the insurance covers it. We've only used the blooming thing a few times.
Anyway DH has moved the van back to Thirsk so that he can go to work for the next couple of days. He'll be back on Thursday because he has a Dr's appt on Friday - he found a lump and needs it checking out. Hopefully it's just an enlarged gland caused by an infection, that's what I'm telling myself anyway. I used to be a real worrier like many of you but many years ago I found that I was worrying about work so much that it was making me ill. I trained myself to start looking on the bright side of things rather than thinking the worst and it really helped. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof - apparently it means that each day contains enough problems without adding to them with worry.
I hope you don't think I'm being flippant about any of the worries that you all have, there's a difference between worrying about actual things and things that might be. I just try not to worry about the things that might be.
Anyway, I am now home with the Ziggypup. I'm pleasantly surprised that the shrubs in the pots have survived, I'll give them a good soaking tonight. Everything else looks very sorry for itself.0 -
Still awaiting letter from neurologist re the Parkinson's.
Nannywindow and Gers, sending you many hugs. Ive been where you are and i wouldnt want to go through it all again. My Mother had a sharp tongue and knew how to use it. Even in the last months of her life when she couldnt speak she still knew how to put me down. A poke in my 'spare tyre' reminded me (as if i needed reminding) that i was still overweight.
