    Morning everyone,

Much better here today with a nice, cool breeze, no rain for us yesterday but major town two miles away had a downpour apparently.
Had an enjoyable evening last night but my poor DSIL is on tenterhooks waiting to see if her op is actually going ahead, the hospital have picked up a water infection even though she has no symptoms. She has psyched herself up for the op and there is the additional worry of the cancer spreading if it’s delayed any further :(
Don’t have many plans for today, as it’s cooler will get some work into Lu but that’s about it.

Hugs to all those with worries and troubles, take care folks x
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Well yesterdays 'little accident' turned into a journey in the rush hour to get both my dental plates repaired. I got a bit of a telling off for not sending one of them by post before to get it sorted. If you saw me without it you would understand why. The wicked witch of the west is a description my son said when he saw me without it. However all is now smiles again.

Its a bit cooler, we did have a slight, very slight fall of rain yesterday, but it was very muggy in bed last night even with the windows open. It seems a bit cooler this morning.

Its cleaners day so OH is sorting out his 'mess' mind you it will soon reappear when the cleaners have gone. Its such a relief not to have sweat pouring down my face and body anymore. A good clean once a week is such a blessing.

Towels in the washer, the sheets etc dried before lunch yesterday, I need to go through and iron them whilst the sun is off the back of the bungalow.

More rasps picked yesterday, we are drowning in them, so I am going to have to make jam. I have ordered a digital thermometer, I used to use one to test dishes when I was working, they seem to be pretty accurate and easier to read.

Our across the road neighbours have a caravan near Skeggy, they went over on Friday, back Sunday, it was too hot!! neither of them could sleep.

OH is out in the garden, he is very worried about his beans, lack of water means they are dropping the beans as they form, so I told him to empty both washing up water bins onto them for a couple of days and see if they improve. I can use tap water for the containers. The rest of the garden is having to cope on its own. There are a lot of plants in pots which are also getting water, the ground is so hard we cannot get a fork in.

Off to tackle the ironing before the sun gets round to the back.

Morning, I've been up for hours but not got round to greeting people.

I managed to wrench my shoulder and back somehow yesterday, while I was out shopping, not what I'd really describe as a strenuous activity and normally not dangerous.I've also developed a painful area in my jawbone. Am falling apart! So not a comfortable night though I did manage a few hours.

Any plans I had for today were pretty domestic and we're mundane verging on the mibd-numbingly tedious so I probably won't bother.

TA I'm sorry you didn't get useful advice or information yesterday.

Tru, 5 hope things are ok within your family.

    Everyone, have a good day

    Morning all,

we had a little rainfall yesterday evening which cooled the air and i think its a a little cooler today. A welcome break from the heat that we have been having.

Stuff ongoing in the house, shouldnt complain really but i wish he'd do what needs to be done rather than what he wants to do.... I'm saying nothing though, just grateful that he is doing something.

Queue for the shower is mounting up. Prodigal came yesterday to be turned away and told to come back tonight, he was starving hungry. Obviously not made his money stretch this month. Maybe if he hadnt spent so much on a phone only to lose it when he got hammered the other night he might have been able to feed himself. I love him but he is an idiot.

Youngest had a hissy fit when he came back from work last night to be told he couldnt have a shower. To be honest i didnt know the shower needed regrouting... it looked fine to me.

To throw my much loved routine out even more, Youngest has booked today off work.

TBO is enjoying herself in Majorca.... From the pictures she has been sending me, Livewire and Diva are loving it.

Onwards and forwards - but will be hiding most of the day in the only place in the house i can get away from the noise.... the garden. Quietly rocking in the corner.

TA sorry you didnt get any helpful advice yesterday.

LaineyT Thinking of your poor SIL. Hope she gets the op that she needs.

    Have a great day all.

Off to work again ( I forever seem to be saying that !) my boss approached me yesterday asking if I can work a weekend coming up  it kind of put me on the spot a bit and I told her I would let her know, this is only two weeks after our last conversation about me not doing weekends, I am going to have to speak to her again today, I really don't mind doing the odd one but I have the feeling that if I say yes to this lots more will follow !!
I reckon you should say No, and set the expectation. If you do the very first one they ask, it will, in their minds, set a precedent, and it'll be harder to stand your ground later on. (I hope that made sense - it did as I was thinking it).

Lainey posi-vibes and very best hopes for your DSIL.

Mr LW has seen GP about his ongoing persistent cough and been prescribed something called Montelukast.

Still awaiting letter from neurologist re the Parkinson's. :(

Thanks LW and Judi have now heard that DSIL op will go ahead tomorrow as planned, she is relieved but very apprehensive if that makes sense.

I agree with Lame Wolf that they seem to be "testing the water" and if you agree to this request then it will keep happening.

    Lainey

I am glad the operation will go ahead as she has psyched herself up for it but it will be a daunting thought.

I had a late SW friendly breakfast , loaded the dishwasher and tidied the kitchen then popped out for a few bits of food shopping. I saw the people who have a business jet washing, cleaning and lining wheelie bins and pottered out to ask them to add me to their rounds. I have been trying to catch up with them for ages as the bins get very smelly particularly in this hot weather. I thought about trying to clean them myself but I don't have a pressure washer and it would be a messy job. I manage to clean and disinfect the kitchen bin myself but that is much more manageable.

Have cooked a chicken in a M***i bag and it is cooling in the fridge ready to be sliced off the bone and be used in the next day or so either in salads or with chips or as a pasta dish. It looks as if it could rain tonight which should clear the air and do the garden some good. Pleased I got two loads of washing dry yesterday and have a Sainsbobs order coming tomorrow so I don't have to lug things home.

I am still waiting for my square baking tray to arrive so I can make the fancy breakfast bars DD showed me and then freeze them for her to take later. No sign of baby arriving yet, fingers crossed, but she is filling her freezer with home made meals and snacks and finishing off some last minute baby shopping online.

    Hugs to all
  • LAINEY I hope your SIL's op goes well tomorrow. A worry for you all.

Mr TA's wheelchair was delivered today - 2 days earlier than expected. That should make life less of a struggle for him when out and about. It is classed as lightweight but it's not quite as lightweight as I was expecting. Other than that though we are pleased with it. It seems pretty easy to manouvre but we haven't been outside with it yet! Not that it will it be getting pushed far outside anyway as whichever direction we go in, once out on the pavement, we are faced with a steep hill and I am not up to pushing wheelchairs up a hill these days sadly!

I am hiding in the bathroom at the moment with a colour on my hair. These flipping grey roots seem to appear almost overnight and I am forever having to do it! I am trying a different colour this time, I hope I don't regret it!

Have a nice evening folks if you can xx

    Hello all
Sorry for the late post but I've had a to - do with Dad today.
He rang this morning gasping for breath asking me to phone for the Dr. The surgery suggested I should ring 999. Dad wouldn't hear of it so I went up and as usual I couldn't do anything for him. Words were had by me and I told him a few home truths. I said between worrying about him and Mr Fix It, it will be me that pops my clogs first .
I had been up most of last night worrying about Mr Fix It as he had a temperature and was unsteady on his feet when going to the loo. Apart from the cancer I believe he has some sort of infection but he seems a bit better now.
Anyway I went to the surgery and managed to get Dad a home visit and I was wrong apparently to tell them he wasn't eating . Dr arrived, I collected his script, got it filled and took it up to him. There is one item missing which I will collect tomorrow, nothing major the Fortisip drinks.
I returned home about 4 and had a pasty followed by some strawberries and cream. And breathe....... sorry I needed to get it off my chest or I'm going to explode, poor Mr Fix It doesn't need the stress of me moaning. ( nor you lovely lot probably ! ) Actually I'm more angry than anything and running away to sea is looking more of a possibility :).
I shall have a read back in a moment, when I've come back down to earth.
I shall send many hugs to all today.

Evening all, bit of a late one from me.

DM's been not too well the last couple of days and not progressing as she ought, so I called out the GP. He came in the early afternoon to see her, he thinks she's sensitive to the beta blockers and to stop taking tthem for about five days. We already knew that they have caused her to collapse in a faint previously so they were stopped, but the hospital consultant ordered them again. We'll see, her heart rate may increase slightly so it's a watching game.

I'm a bit stir crazy from being couped up and (surprisingly) bored with reading in between attending to DM. Here's hoping for some better improvement- she'll not get back to whizzing, or even bimbling, around again but up on her feet in the apartment would be enough.

So, that's my dull day! Very MSE as I'm using up bits and pieces in DM's fridge. Tomorrow I have to wait in for the delayed delivery of the toilet guard, maybe on Thursday I can reach fresh air.

Sorry to sound moany, I don't mean to. It'll all be fine soon. Happy thoughts to those struggling with much more than me.
