  • Hi,
The road on which you parked your carvis a privately owned road. Be it next to the station or not, it doesn't matter. There's a station car park on the other side of the tracks.

Also, you did return in an hour. The photos prove it.

    All,

thank you for your help and advice on this one. Here's my first draft. My court date is 24th September - is there benefits in supplying the Witness Statment much earlier than the 10th September? What is my strongest argument?

Skimad, did you go to court over this? frustrating that in most cases we never hear the outcomes of cases posted on these threads - they just go dead. I too received a PCN from PCM and i'm wondering if they actually go through with court
Just like private parking signage, posts need reading carefully! :)

  • Another one bites the dust!

So much stress for 5 minutes in Court! I arrived at the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand at 9:15 this morning after battling through torrential weather to get here. I was told I was on the unassigned list and there were a lot of cases to get through today, they took my number and told me I would get a text when my case was assigned. I waited near the reception until 10am to see if anyone turned up for the claimant as I had written my skeleton argument to give to them.

At 10:25 I received a text message and told to go to court 44, I checked again to see if anyone had arrived but no one had. I went to the court room and the Usher showed me in, I walked in and it was just myself and the Judge. She asked if I been informed that the Claimant was not attending, I said that I they told me that someone may or may not turn up when they sent me their WS. She said she had read my WS and confirmed that my main argument that the signage was not clear and the font was not appropriate, I agreed. She then also said that you I had not stayed 20 minutes to which I agreed again. She then wrote those 2 points down and then said she recommended that the claim be struck out and asked if I had missed work today to which I agreed. She said she could only award me £95 and then said it would be paid in 14 days.

She then said I could go on my way - all done within 5 minutes.

So much time, effort and stress that went into my case but very glad I won!

Thank you to all who helped me on this forum, you really are worth your weight in gold! The sooner these companies are shut down the better!

    Hi,

Seems like the Judge disagreed with you Patricia7777. Perhaps you'd like to apologise to the OP now?

@Skimad247 - well done on your win.

Why not write to your MP and let him know the stress, effort and time it takes to shake off a claimant who was so unsure of their case that they did not dare turn up in court, and given the Judge's backing, it is evident that the claimant was trying to illegitimately extort money from you.

    Hi,

Today is the day that the Judge ordered PCN to pay my £95 costs - how are they meant to pay these costs? Cheque? Bank Transfer?

    Thanks in advance

I believe it's normally a cheque , sometimes it gets paid late

Wait until tomorrow and then email them giving 7 days to pay

Better to Badger them for now than pay for enforcement by a warrant of control

    I'm in the same situation.

The judge gave them until 2nd October to pay my witness costs at my hearing on the 18th September but I only received my Judgement from the court this morning which looks like it was only typed and sent on the 5th October due to the court backlog.

I'll assume that they received their copy of it this morning so they can have 7 days from today to send the cheque before I start chasing.

Have you had any update on your cheque yet? I'm getting no response from PCM (UK) to my emails regarding mine so wondered if you'd had any better success?

So happy to see this bounced as I missed this success by the OP, and had missed the laughable first and only post by 'Patricia7777' who must have been from the PPC, haha!!

  • Good to know these clowns keep losing in court. I'll be seeing them there soon enough. Patricia are you the "rotund" person who lurks around with a mobile phone at the site, taking desperate photos from 50 yards away? What kind of commission per ticket are you on? If you'd have asked nicely I'd have thrown you a fiver. Very sad you can’t get a proper job, just get yourself a hoodie and a shaft and steal the traditional way. Wasn't sure if you were male or female tbh
