Thrown out of my home by not a legal way

If the landlord is using physical violence towards you and/or openly racist, then the police can be called - just make sure you have independent witnesses and if possible, record the altercations. Once the police are involved, you can expect the locks to be changed and you are thrown out on the street.
The local housing department may be able to help with the homeless situation, but I'm afraid you would be well down the list.
My name is Franciszek and he is my friend. We have recording on the smart phone of the landlord being racist and hammering hard on the door at 1am for no reasons. He has called my friend racist names and been unkind because of his preferences for wearing dresses. He is a transvestite and I think that this is illegal and racist.
There is no contract it is payment every two weeks for the rent but the agreement was six months and I was a witness because my friend can speak very good english but he is not so good in writing.
He is a bully and there are illegal persons who are from other countries but have stayed beyond visa, I know they are using fake id for jobs.
The owner is not a legal person and I am worried my friend cannot get his money back if he leaves. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The main problem is how to get the deposit back from him, there is no management company but we just have the receipt of the deposit but he is refusing to give this back and we need this money because where we live it is expensive and we don't have this money.
We have until the weekend but if we call the Police then we have to go the same day
Thank you

The shower is too small to change clothes in their and the landlord complained this was one reason for asking Jakub to leave. He don't wear normally in the house he is using this as an excuse only.
There is only one shower and it is after the kitchenThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

As you say this is not a wind-up! We came from my country to be free here in London! We were persecuted at home. Our country our culture it is not so free and open as like yours we suffer from persecution and here in London we are now free to express ourselves in a nice way free from rude people.
We have bad luck because our landlord is not English, he is not fair minded and he is prejudice against us because we prefer to wear ladies clothes. There is no other reason for this
We have gone to Police station in Forest Gate where I work, but they are saying it is civilian matter and nothing can they do.
We can go but we want to know how to get our deposit back. He is too rough and we don't know what to do.
If anybody can help us I can send you my telephone number through private chat.
I have a documentary company who is interested for us and I've asked them for money and we can be on TV with regards to this.
Anybody who think they can help us please PM me and I can send you my number. I speak good enough english. I am also transvestite so if this is problem for you then dont' call me. We are both Polish from Lodz
We both love England and we love English peoples for your fair mindedness and openness and we are now citizens

Well, that makes you a tenant in a HMO - You have a few more rights than a plain run of the mill lodger. Get in contact with the local council to see if the house is registered as an HMO.maninthestreet wrote: »Am I the only one thinking this thread is a wind-up??
OP. I would suggest getting a dressing gown rather than wandering around in underwear, Much less likely to give out the wrong signals or offence.rodgerlod75 wrote: »We have bad luck because our landlord is not English, he is not fair minded and he is prejudice against us because we prefer to wear ladies clothes.

Well, a hate crime against an LGBT individual is a criminal offence, and the police should investigate. Demand to speak to a higher ranking officer, preferably one versed in LGBT issues.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I'm sure I read on another thread that it's acceptable for the police to be involved when you have lodgers in your house. If they are called several times then the landlord seems to get a better understanding of the tenant and it strengthens their relationship...
The real problems seem to be when the lodgers want to cook meals for the landlord aswell and this is when advice should be sought.0
