translating a document online

i have a 6 page document in .pdf format that is in spanish and i would like to translate it into english. as it's a pdf i cannot copy and paste it into google translate.

i also have a copy of it in Word but it appears to be an image of the pdf file and again, cannot be copied and pasted into google translate.

is there a way i can do this online without having to purchase software as this is a one-off that i will not need to repeat?

You can usually get a free trial for one of the PDF. to word programmes if it's just a one off. Try nitro.
How accurate does it need to be? - not a great fan of google translate for more than the basic gist.

Can you scan the .pdf and use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) which (used to) come with most scanners. Then you can save it to Word.

If you have Word, then right click the PDF and choose 'Open with Word (desktop)'.

This opens the PDF as an editable word document. OCR is already built in to Word (at least this is how it works on my 2013 version).

You can then copy / paste into Google.

thanks for suggestions but i'm not having any luck. i believe its because the document is a scanned document rather than a text document so that neither 'small pdf' or 'online translator' that were both suggsted, will recognise the text to translate it.

How important is the document? I'm not sure I'd place a lot of trust in several software steps to be highly accurate, so if you need it to be right pay someone to do the translation for you. My experience of getting quotes from several countries is that the cheapest rates are in Portugal, although for a one off single document it may be easier to get someone in the UK to do it.

If its a scanned document that is actually image embedded you would have to manually translate it as OCR wont recognise anything

Check its not image embedded as if it is then OCR wont recognise it so will require manual translating

Is that true? I'm sure I've successfully used OCR on images before.
