I guess it depends on your outlook, what would you be doing if you weren't comping? ... If you have something more productive to be doing then I guess it's maybe not worth it but if you're just gonna sit about watching Jeremy Kyle or whatever, then it probably is worth it 'cause at least there's a slim chance of getting something out it.

In saying that, It's always good to take a break every now and then. Come back refreshed and raring to go.

Definitely - I took a break after 6 years as I wasn't winning but it was just a dry spell. Having started again in March I have won over £1200 worth of prizes.

You have to be in it to win it!

I do it as a hobby, I find it relaxing and I am not quite sure what I would do online if I didn't comp. I do win quite regularly, not big things but I do okay.

I think there are less competitions this year than there have been in the last few years. I don't do Facebook L&S, anything with effort, on air or tickets, I probably spend 1-2 hours a day.

Fingers crossed for you that after a long break the wins will follow.. in 25 odd years, comping on and off, I have had an amazing year and definately my best ever so far (started back comping in Jan after a 18mth/2yr break).

Like everyone says, there is no guarantee but it depends what else is going on around you.. I take a lot of breaks as my home life/work commitments often demand it.. but if life is calm, hubby is watching the footie or I am having a lazy day.... I comp away!

I just enter everything that interests me while watching TV, so it's not like it's much effort or taking up time. Aiming for a holiday as we're saving for our wedding now and won't be able to afford another one for a couple of years!
Thanks to all who post competitions.

Best wins: Dickinson's Real Deal, Glastonbury, Route Du Rock, tiny Suede gig

I enter when my 1 year old and 3 year old let me in the evening while hubby is working lates. For me it has been worth it especially the local ones. From them I have won 10 fair rides tickets, gap voucher for local store and vip tickets for new pool opening with free bowling/pool party/buffet. My mum also won tickets to the cinema to take the 3 year old to see the new thomas the tank film.

For me if I win it's about treating the kids when otherwise I might not be able too. Watching their faces while treating them from my win is priceless.

I've never won a single thing, been comping for about 6 years!
I normally enter about maybe 25 a day. I'm off work just now so entering loads more than normal. I do tend to search for things I'd like to win and focus on those, maybe that's where I go wrong?
