Hello!
i used to be a big comper but late last year i gave up after going a while with out wins. I'd love to get back in to comping but i would just like to know peoples opinions to see if its still worth it? If so whats the best way to get back in to it? any tips or suggestions would be very welcome!
Thank you

Hiya,
I think its definitely worth it - if you keep at it! I enter a lot of social media competitions, but also do other ones too such as the ones posted on the general competitions time page. I'm not to keen on gleam/rafflecopter but enter the occasional ones. I have won most of my prizes through Facebook, or through websites. I definitely recommend starting again, there are plenty of good competitions to enter.11 wins in August 2019 :j Thanks everyone x

I've won five prizes this week, so I would say yes. I get a lot of my wins from Twitter.
Local newspapers and websites are good, as are effort comps, as they have less entries.0 -
I also used to be a big comper and then gradually got more and more disheartened and short of time. Recently I've had a bit more time and have been entering several everyday. No wins yet so, no, not worth my time but as the old saying goes - 'you've got to be in it to win it'.
Keep comping and good luck.xIf you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -
I dont personally think it's worth it, I do click to win and around 5 hours of my day is taken up with competition entries. I haven't won much at all0

I think its "worth it". I've had a few nice big (to me) wins so far this year - a spa day for two and some cash for travel, an amazon echo show and a few smaller prizes of a table cloth (which i needed), a breakfast bundle and desserts n stuff. I think its best not to get hung up on winning, just enjoy entering them and wondering if the postie is going to bring you a surprise, or if you're going to find a WEM amongst all the junk e-mails. Its a fun hobby in my eyes, that I do for maybe an hour or two a night (not every day) while I'm unwinding and watching tv, and a few hours at a time at weekends and odd evenings. I think if you expect to win and get hung up on it, then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Just my approach/opinion.Well this is fun

Is it worth it? If you sit down and spend hours tapping away entering without winning then of course not BUT if you do it as a hobby not expecting to win just hoping for a win now and then then its great.
Lovely sometimes when you come home from work to find someone has left a message on your answerphone -''Congratulations Jones you have been chosen as the winner of blah di da''. Great feeling especially if it is something you really want or saves you money.
Haven't received a LWE for years now - no parcels either that just used to turn up and you didn't have a clue where from?
As a hobby its great - if you expect to win constantly then you will be disappointed.0 -
I used to win a lot, but not recently. There are far fewer competitions, especially good competitions, and clearly more people are entering. One just has to look at the number of retweets on Twitter competitions. And the number of caption competitions - my favourite - has dwindled to practically nothing, and those that do still exist are subject to voting, so the caption whose entrant has the least worry about asking all their friends to vote wins!0

Winning far less than I used to. In terms of results, nope not worth it at all. For something to pass the time when I haven't the energy to do anything better, and I'm not much of a telly watcher, it's ok and gives me the odd laugh.2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400

It's better than spending money down at the pub and waking up with a hangover, as a hobby!
The great thing is, as long as you never expect to win, the surprise when you do is a buzz.
Also, on occasions, you win something that you would never have bought yourself (too expensive, never thought of, never heard of etc) which gives you a totally new experience in life and perhaps some wonderful memories.
Keep at it but as they say on the gambling ads, "When the Fun Stops, Stop"0
