How long ago did you do that? I think I might switch from Nationwide to Halifax Reward with a £75 bonus for switching. Nationwide offer me no reason at all to continue banking with them.

I don't expect much from them, but nothing at all is the answer in my case.

About 6 months ago I think. Incoming payments get redirected yes. Simple switch on issues it was smooth process.

Did they offer you the overdraft up-front on your application or after you received the card and it was fully opened?

It says on there it gives you an overdraft decision in the application.

Yes as part of the application. I already had the flex credit card before the current account. I applied for clarity clarity card after the current account was open for a few months, they didn’t even do a credit check for the card. Just opened immediately.

This had been brought up before about Nationwide’s soft check being way off.

I’ve got a card with them but they are by far the worst for increases. I was even a main current account customer with them and the increases were very poor to say the least. They are far more lenient with loans, they wouldn’t give me £500 increase on my card but they would give me up to £25k loan lol weird lending criteria :rotfl:

My experience hasn't been the same. Had the card for 2 1/2 years and been offered increases of about £1000 each time. Increased the limit twice already, would have been 3 but I misread the letter they sent and thought the increase would be automatic, instead it required me to phone up.

I certainly wouldn't say their increases are "poor" although they're certainly not the most generous credit card provider I've experienced.

I’ve has 2x £500 increase in two years it’s the worst out of all my cards. I took an amex Card at the same time that started at £3000 and now that’s £9500. Nationwide started at £2000 and is now £3000.

How do you manage to hit such high limits across all of your cards? What's your secret :A

P.S: I know why you do, I am just jealous :rotfl:

Well I’m older for a start. My card utilisation is about 1% lol. I do pay in full 90% of the time. Reasonable income my take home pay is around £1650 a month. I do have a few to many cards I really should close some as I don’t use the bulk of them. I tend to use amex most of the time and Natwest reward where amex isn’t taken.

Amex will probably have a different way of doing things, being a charge card rather than a credit card.

2 £500 increases is pretty miserly though. Maybe the credit limit on your Amex is putting them off?

My amex card is a credit card not a charge card. I do have a massive amount of available credit so it could be putting them off. Who knows plus i don!!!8217;t use it much so they probably see no profit in increasing it.

I am around the same monthly income as you, but with a small difference between us, that I have over 80% total credit utilization but remember mine are subprime level limits and so are easier to max out than a £9000 mainstream card :rotfl:

If I had one card with a massive limit, I'd have no use for more than one, rather than having multiple, making it look worse to lenders.
