It doesn't sound like an old POD that the seller is trying to recycle then.

When have eBay said you will get your refund?

Any seller with a POD such as you describe, will not hand over a refund willingly. Did eBay say they will fund it?

24-48 hours & they didn't specify. Just said the delivery address associated with that tracking isn't mine (although I have no idea if they can actually get hold of that sort of information?)

    Forget ebay etc.
Get into your local delivery office and ask them to check the tracking.
They will have GPS tracking of where it was scanned as delivered.(requires managers to check)
The system is called Pre COM if they try and fluff you.
If you want I have someone who could check the tracking tomorrow to see if it has an address aligned to the tracking (AKA Pre advice) but no GPS.
That is down to the sender to populate those details, not all do.

That would be great - if you could, I can message you the tracking number.
No chance of getting to the DO until next week as it's miles away.

Quick update in case anyone has a similar problem in future.

Lost the case (because of the tracking number), won the appeal.

    Full refund now received.

On the grounds that the tracking number was nothing to do with my order (neither my name, nor my address).

    Thanks for the help Custardy.
