Hi All,
Got the house for a price we are happy with and the vendors are also happy. We ended up paying almost our top price but we did manage to get their white goods, bathroom cabinets etc thrown in. And, which I'm quite proud of, their lawnmower and garden tools too which all helps out. I'm cnfident we can do the few things we want to it (double glazing in the downstairs bathroom, improved loft insulation and similar - not that I'm obsessed iwth the cold) and still put down a 20% deposit and borrow 3x our joint income, which even though we are both expecting good wage increases in the next few years (OH is guarenteed 50% increase over 5 years due to seniority) is the most I would want to borrow, ever! There is also no chain which can only help...
And for us, although I know not everyone would agree because it's a terrace, this is a home that we could happily imagine having a family grow up in.
Now for the dull part....
... 3 months later we might get the keys!0
