Deleting BT/Yahoo Email Address

18 months ago I spoke to someone at BT about deleting my bt email address and I was told that if I didnt use the account for 3 months it would be automatically deleted. HaHa 19 months later it still hasnt been removed. Now the law has changed BT have to delete the account if I request it but their deleting tool doesnt work on my log in area. I can't seem to find any way of contacting BT about this, no phone number, webchat or email address. Can anyone help?

  • Hello,
I recently received an email from BT telling me about my new BT email service. I used to use a btinternet.com account years ago but ceased using it because of the charges. According to BT they close the account if it has been inactive for several months. (Not sure of the actual number). They have obviously NOT closed it, and my attempts to do so have been met with frustration because as usual BT sends you round in circles when you try to follow the website instructions. You can't ring them because they are not taking calls because of Covid 19 and if you try to email it sends you to an online chat. Unfortunately to take part in an online chat you need a current BT landline number. I don't have  BT landline because I left them many years ago because of really bad customer service experiences. I tried complaining to Ofcom and they don't deal with email complaints. Does anyone have similar experiences or can offer any help?
