How long to get new sim up and running?

I want to change to sim only with a different co. when my contract ends next month but just wondered if when you apply for a sim how quickly it gets set up so you can use your phone?

The SIM from your new provider will be ready to use when you receive it, with its own phone number. If you are porting your current number over by using a PAC, it should not take more than a day or so unless there's an intervening weekend. Is that what you are referring to?

Yes thanks, I see they do credit checks for SIMs so I also wondered if that meant any delays

Well I ordered the SIM today from id, and got an email estimating it'll take 3-5 days to despatch


update- a few hours later I got an email saying it'd been despatched!
