URGENT:Royal Mail Redirection - Proof of OLD address or NEW?

Hi,

The requirements for Post Office redirection seem to be conflicting each other.

We are told we need proof OLD address in one place and proof of NEW address in another.

So which is it?

Just download the form from the PO website. That will have the requirements on. As I can remember, there is no need for proof of new address.

I assume you mean different PO have told you the different things?

    As said,easiest way is online.
Also can we ever get to point where people understand the difference between the Post Office & Royal Mail?

    Nope :D

Although in defence of the OP, the PO website does say...
redirect your mail at the Post Office

and has all the necessary forms and guides on it.

Having said that, when I used the redirecton service a couple of years ago I don't seem to remember having to send any ID. I did it direct with RM though so don't know if that's the difference here.

Last time I did this online the card you paid with had to be registered to the old address. Don't know if that still applies.

For your security, to apply online your payment card must be registered at your old or new address. If your card is registered at your new address you will need to answer some additional security questions. Alternatively, you can submit your application by post or via a Post Office® branch - download the form from the Apply and Buy section below, or pick one up in branch.
