Poor Sky Router WiFi

I'm one of these who opted out of BT contract some time ago and joined Sky its Q-box.

With the BT Router I no issues with it service and WiFi range (upstairs or outside of house).

But now with Sky's Router the WiFi is crap for its range even in the next room. The router is in the same place where the BT router was, tried changing between the 2.5 and 5.0 bands with no difference.

I still have my old D-Link router I had before BT.

Some years ago my son had an issue with his Sky router and we used a program which would extract Sky's hidden user name/password and other info. Using "http://www.dankross.co.uk/2014/11/use-router-sky-broadband/". And used my D-Link to make comparisons in fault finding etc.

This seems to have disappeared off the net.

Anyone know a another link or has the the program used so I can again try my D-Link to if any improvement over the Sky device.
