Lost ring

Hi all,

So the mrs has lost her eternity band. She’s come back from shopping and thinks when she swapped the shopping bags to her other hand it’s come off. Looking on the home insurance we have personal possessions cover up to £5,500. The ring cost was £3,200 back in 2009. I have proof of purchase and everything

I didn’t specify the ring though so where do I stand?

Thanks

Tim

Personal Possessions covers you for losses outside of the home.

If the item is not specified, then the single article limit for valuables will apply.
  • I think you'll need to report it missing to the police and get a number from them. Otherwise everyone would be at it; saying they lost their expensive ring and taking £3K off the insurers.
