It's not ITV's fault they can't adapt to new surroundings.... How much did they put into the house themselves? Because if they didn't put anything, making £400,000 is nothing to complain about.
Just from reading the article, it looks like it's their own fault it turned into a nightmare. It's just too easy to blame everyone else.0 -
It's only the Mail calling it a nightmare. The couple are even quoted saying " we can't complain as it cost us nothing."

Has it taken them that long to realise that something is wrong?
They should have cut and run with 350k a long time ago.
Given their occupations that would represent a significant gain they could never have hoped to achieve anywhere else.

Looks a typical "never let the truth get in the way of a good story". The couple are happy to get anything out of it and get rid (not "we've lost £600,000 like the paper was implying). The paper found a couple of NIMBYs for a quote. (Can't see too many thatched houses in that photo). Fancy designer interiors don't always sell houses (Himalayas didn't fall into the sea today and the weather in the Sahara will be hot). And to finish with being really catty, how old is that picture of Linda Barker? Or did someone have nothing to do for a couple of hours and a copy of Photoshop?A house isn't a home without a cat.

Regardless of the sensationalist tone that the mail has applied to this story, it is nevertheless true.
They have been sat on this house for two years without selling and are now having to drop the price when could have taken their money ages ago.
(STUPIDITY)
They were hoping for HPI to deliver further free money but have mis-timed the market and are now trying to bail out.

Not necessarily true, they moved in to begin with and the article never said at what point they put it on the market and at what point they moved back to the east coast. Also, they are unlikely to have set the selling price.
