For a 1.2 petrol Polo using Pagid from carparts4less it works out at £107 for the parts. My local independent garage charges £40 per wheel - £160. Total would be £267. You could save £32 by having the cheaper Indian Eicher brake parts fitted.
Yeah lets skimp on the things that stop your vehicle, that'll end well.

Good to see you've taken on board our comments and updated your view that its best to get a trusted local indy to do the work rather than your bizarre view that people should do jobs like this based on you tube videos.

Go to your local TPS, they've just opened their front counters. They may or may not serve you but the savings are potentially huge. DIY (easy job) or take the parts to a decent indy if not inclined.
Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience?

Why? So you can argue with them?

Labour is charged by the hour.
and there’s nothing wrong with eicher. The 1200cc polo is not a race car it’s not even a performance car and being a 1200cc it’s a runabout. Everything sold in the U.K. has to be fit for purpose, imagine the fall out eurocarparts would have to deal with if their own brand parts were of such poor quality.

Brakes are only as good as the tyres

    Indian???
The complete range of Eicher brake pads are made at TMD’s state-of-the-art aftermarket facility in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and supplied exclusively to Euro Car Parts.

They're ECP own-brand slapped on whatever.

    TMD closed Kilmarnock last year.

Physics doesn't care about engine size and power when it comes to stopping. Physics is only concerned with mass and momentum. The 1.2L Polo may not be a race car but it still weighs 1.3 tonnes and is capable of over 100MPH.

Fit for purpose means nothing. Cheap chinese tyres are deemed to be fit for purpose but there's a country mile difference in their ability to slow you down, go round corners and actually work worth a damn in the wet compared to top end tyres from Michelin, Goodyear or Continental.
