Cost to replace front and back brake pads and discs?

£1 if you are the customer, £1000 if you are the garage.0

Why not phone around half a dozen garages or so and see what costings they come back with?
Preferably small indy garages and not the chains. You should find they're within £50 of each other.
Can't tell you the costing for a polo but I know mines was £300 from a small indy (previously quoted £500+ by a non-chain dealership when it was in getting its service and I know chain dealerships usually charge around £700).You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Cost me £130 on a 09 plate Astra at a small independent garage0

£41 just for the front discs/pads, a total bill less than £200 will be cheap.

Last time I had full brakes renewal it was about £350, that was for a B class and included repairs to the low pad depth warning wiring.
Dealer quoted almost £600!!0 -
For a 1.2 petrol Polo using Pagid from carparts4less it works out at £107 for the parts. My local independent garage charges £40 per wheel - £160. Total would be £267. You could save £32 by having the cheaper Indian Eicher brake parts fitted.0

Do try your VW dealer, as they are sometimes keen to price match this sort of work, to encourage you into their workshops, if you've been servicing elsewere.
Kwikfit offer their brake warranty, which means they will replace the brakes when they wear out, as long as you are the owner of the car. But prices may not be as competitive, as some other places.
As for independents, do ask what brand of parts they use, as the actual components are sometimes MUCH cheaper than original VW parts, but also the quality is lesser, too. So if they use a unknown make, perhaps think again.

Fixed price dependent on engine size at Mr Clutch - see their website - £295 for anything up to 1.3litres for front and rear discs and pads fitted. Nevertheless ring a local independent or two that others recommend near you - ask facebook friends or real ones.0

When I was looking at the same on my Ibiza (same set up and parts) Seat wanted £600, cheapest decent independent was £450.
Stopped being lazy, dug out my tools and did it myself, £96 including new brake fluid and took about 3 hours. If you are handy with tools these are one of the easiest cars to change discs and pads on.0
