Any suggestions where to get a 10w40 Fully Synthetic engine oil at a sensible price.
It is only going in a standard Astra so nothing particularly high-tec required.
Thanks,

Hopeing it might last a bit longer than semi-synth before going black but depends on the price.davetrousers wrote: »Why fully synthetic?0 -

Asda if you have a large enough store near you.0 -

Euro car parts (when a sales on) or Car parts for less (same company different prices!)
Their own brand triple qx is fine but they have offers on other brands as well.
Last time I ended up with Shell Helix fully synthetic at £17.50 for 5l.0 -
But is their Triple QX actually a real full (group IV PAO) synthetic or just a semi-synth pretending to be fully synthetic. Same thing with Shell Helix, that doesn't seem to be a real fully synthetic when I do a bit of research.Euro car parts (when a sales on) or Car parts for less (same company different prices!)

Each to their own but I don't think it's worth worrying too much about unless you have a car that is fussy about oil.
I'm no oil expert but from the limited bits I've read most of the claims of synthetic oil not really being proper synthetic are from highly priced oil brands justifying their products price!0 -

10w40 semi-synth is fine. EuroCarParts with their discount code and sometimes 2 for 1 on Triple QX. I got 2 off 5litre Gulf 10w40 semi-synth recently for about £25 plus nearly a £1 cashback.0

Hmm.
TRIPLE QX Semi Synthetic Engine Oil - 10W-40, 5ltr - £22 from EuroCarParts
Millers CFS 10w40 (real group IV fully synthetic), 5L - £50.85 from Amazon
Where do I find their discount code?
Edit:
One other option is believe it or not Halfords:
Mobile 1 (real) Fully Synthetic, 5L - £44.80
Don't know if I am right but thinking that a real Fully Synthetic may be ok for say five years, just changing the oil filter occassionally.0
