Thanks. Yes, if it was bad luck and it did go, then it's happened on their premises, while they've been using it (as it wouldn't go when the engine isn't running). So that's what I'm trying to get to the bottom of.
A mechanical fault with a car wouldn't make it their responsibility unless their deliberate actions doing something they shouldn't caused the fault. If a gearbox simply goes while being used normally, it's not their fault, and not their financial responsibility. It would simply be bad luck.0 -

WP Lewis are the Vauxhall main dealer down here, though driving it the best part of an hour & a half might be risky....
