A mechanical fault with a car wouldn't make it their responsibility unless their deliberate actions doing something they shouldn't caused the fault. If a gearbox simply goes while being used normally, it's not their fault, and not their financial responsibility. It would simply be bad luck.

WP Lewis are the Vauxhall main dealer down here, though driving it the best part of an hour & a half might be risky....


FRF are Toyota down here. Actually thinking about it in Carmarthenshire the Vauxhall main dealer is Cawdor - might be worth a try there.
