    Morning All

I'm having 5 minutes peace before my visitors get up! We had a great trip out to an Island yesterday and sat on a glorious beach for our picnic lunch. Day off for me today, I'm going to meet friends later, visitors can amuse themselves - it will involve driving very, very slowly, saying how lovely the views are (they are but not when you're driving) and stopping for tea and scones! Back with them tomorrow, we're going to another Island but DD is coming too so that will give me a break. Sounds like I don't like them - I do, very much but not for a week!

Washing to do this morning, got the grass cut last night and a quick clean round before I go out for an afternoon of relaxation with friends.

    TA, you are amazing.

Still very warm and sunny here which I'm enjoying a lot. Take care. XX

    Morning Everyone

I read some where yesterday that this heatwave is going to last for another month. So the saying a bad Winter or proper Winter means a good Summer , seems to be working.

Hope you find something that Mr TA can eat a bit more of soon.

Well we had some uninvited guests last night - flying ants. They were sprayed with powder and disposed of before bedtime.

I had better do some admin work - not mine my moms today.

Have a good day all x

    Morning

Ive had physio on my hip and previously with my my first HR and I have the upmost respect for this branch of the NHS. The downside of course is the necessity to follow instructions which some people cant be bothered with. It was my physio who discharged me form hospital and if I had chosen the "poor me bed bound route" which apparently lots do then it would have meant more hospital time till I did. Makes me mad... they should have discharged them anyway and let them lie in bed at someone elses cost. Anyway lots of waffle but I was agreeing with tru and saying follow it to a letter Holly and it will work :)

Another gorgeous day so sun on the cards later. Im working on getting all my work/jobs done by 2/3 ish this week then I can laze with a book and work on the paint chart. Gave the baskets an extra water this morning as they were dry as a bone it was so warm at 6.45am. Yesterday had my tuna knickers (lol bellabella ) lovely but I am struggling wanting to eat anything in this heat....having said that the strawberries and crunchie ice cream went down no problem :o Tonight salad again I have sone ham and picnic pork pies so a lump of lancashire along side and I have a ploughmans. No doubt crunchie ice cream will feature again that stuff is addictive :)

TA Nothing more than positive vibes to offer sadly I wish there was. Take care my friend

Jackie enjoy quiz night hopefully you will win easily with everyone watching football....its a great time to do anything other than watch tv for sure :)

    Morning everyone,

Just been out to top up bird food and water, there is a lovely cool breeze today which is a welcome change after yesterday’s heavy heat, I am meeting a friend for coffee this morning so should be nice for sitting outside.
I nearly melted in my hat and boots etc but Lu was a little sweetheart for our lesson, our instructor laughed and said my pony must have realised there was some making up to do after the shenanigans on Sunday morning :rotfl:

My heart goes out to you TA such a difficult situation for you all, hugs x

Have a good day folks x

Morning all. It's grey here but might brighten up - yesterday was hot.

So sorry to hear about Mr TA's continued deterioration TA, you must feel so helpless. Thinking of you, though I know that's no help.

Hope physio works for you Holly.

Nelski, you were asking about the books we read at our book group. Yesterday we were given "Crocodile Soup" by Julia Darling. I've had it out of the library before but I don't mind re-reading. We've just finished "Return to Mandalay" by Rosanna Ley - that was a well researched lightish read, most of us thought, but one or two thought it was dull. "The Shock of the Fall" was another interesting read.
Our group meets in the library so there's no Prosecco or food - tea, coffee or water only! Sessions usually morph into general chat, but we do discuss the relevant book, honest we do!
What sort of stuff does your group read?
Some of the books we've had have been dire, but that's all part of the fun.

Going to Metr*centre to try on a dress at Deb*nhams, I've seen it online. I've got a suspicion it may be too short though, I can't be showing my wrinkled old knees. Hey ho, we'll see.

Have a good day everyone, take care.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especially the TA's sorry there does not seem to be much help for you just now.

Holly glad you do not have arthritis, I have it in both knees and its not funny at times......

The sun is out but the kitchen part of the house is cool just now thanks to the sun not having come right round. I got the laundry dry yesterday, I might just go and iron it whilst the back bedroom is cool. I have towels in this morning.

Cleaner here today, she will have to take her shoes off at the door. cannot have dirty shoes on my nice clean carpet. I had forgotten how light it actually was. Will certainly have the same chap again, he was excellent and I was able to pay him by bank transfer.

No real plans for the day, I have a book on my tablet I want to finish reading I have 7 books from the library van yesterday. So will interperse them with e books. We both read a lot and 7 books will not last long.

Not a bad nights sleep. OH did not have to get up for the loo until just after 5am, and I had a nap until 8am. My stomach is still a bit dicky, but not as bad as it was at the weekend. I think I am going to start keeping a food diary, see if it is something I am eating.

Coffee at the chapel tomorrow, our friends are back from their jaunt to the deep south, they were taking assemblies at several schools and then going on to see their newest grandchild before stopping in Kent on their way back.

A freezer audit is on the cards either today or tomorrow. I am going to go to Aldi once a week for this month see how it pans out money wise. I have a feeling its going to work out more expensive but we will see.

I have taken smoked haddock out of the freezer for supper, will do a couple of poached eggs and some brown bread and butter to have with it. OH is picking raspberries so although I want to freeze some, just now we are having them for dessert with ice cream.

Our current books are Night of the Fire by Colin Thubron and the Alchemist Paulo Coelo. Could not get on at all with Night of the Fire it was far too dull and slow for me me but that could just be my taste The Alchemist however I have loved for many years.

Other books this year that I have enjoyed include The Missing CLTaylor, The Tobacconist The Bigamist Mary Turner Thompson Summer of Impossible Things Rowan Coleman Elinor Oliphant is completely fine Gail Honeyman Then she was gone Lisa Jewel How to stop time Matt craig

Saturday is our next meet so new book time as well as a gin fest and afternoon tea....:o

    Good morning everyone :hello:
My we are a chatty lot on here this morning, already on p.2 and it's just gone 10am :D.
Today feels a little bit cooler as there is a nice breeze. the dogs have been hot and bothered but the mobile groomer has just arrived to give Bobby a nice short back and sides which will help him feel a bit better. Max is hiding in his bed in case the dreaded word B.A.T.H applies to him :rotfl:.
Things are going ok at home so I am ok too. My lovely cmht lady is coming to see me tomorrow so I am looking forward to that. I will ask her to take me wedding present shopping if it is not too hot as a very lovely friend of mine is getting married next month and has asked me to be a witness. I'm thinking of going to Dartington Crystal as it is not too far away from me and maybe buying a nice vase.
I refuse to cook tonight so everyone is going to fend for themselves. Steve is having a meal at work today so he will be happy with a sandwich later.

TA, I can't say any more than already has been said but I am sending you a massive hug and you and Mr TA will be in my thoughts xx

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    TA

You are being a fantastic support and doing everything that you possibly can despite feeling helpless at times because some things are not possible in the way we hope. I hope things get a bit better with absorbing calories . Would soft mini quiches with added cream and cheese be appealing?

    Hester

What would you do without the gems of wisdom and insight that you eagerly anticipate ? (Sorry about the sarcasm but it begins to feel as if all problems will be ascribed to A) age and B) weight.)

It looks like another hot day so have had fruit for breakfast, maybe an omelette for lunch and low fat sausages, mash and peas for tonight. A grocery delivery has just arrived so am trying to get it all put away and any packaging sorted for recycling . Some bottles of rose lemonade have arrived for dd to pick up when she next visits.

    Hugs to all
