This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning everyone
Thank you for the good wishes for my hospital appointment yesterday. It is better than I had expected. He doesn’t think it is arthritis but a problem caused by muscle wastage and weakness that should be remedied by physio, so he is going to arrange that for me.
The only plans I have for today apart from one load of washing are trying to keep both me and the house cool.
Dinner will be something with salad and some new potatoes and ice cream for dessert as it’s so warm.
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.0 -
Good morning, I have been up for several hours now and this is annoying as I just know that I'll be tired this evening.
Hollyharvey I hope physio helps, perhaps the physio might be able to suggest some forms of exercise that you might find groups for locally?
I had a busy day yesterday and didn't get here, but hope everyone is doing ok. I will go and read back in a minute.
I need to go out today, a friend has asked me to make her something which needs to be completed in a limited time and I need to get stuff for that.
Take care, everyoneI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good Morning everyone and another bright and sunny day ahead by the looks of things. Coffee morning at Dobbies this morning so I have to be out a bit earlier than usual to get the tables arranged and be ready to greet any newcomers for U3A.Then tonight its quiz night but not too sure how many will turn up because of the England match. Still I am sure the faithful will appear as not all of them like the footie.
Hope everyone has a good day and don't forget the sun cream
Cheers chums

Morning everyone
BTDT - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Sun shining and getting warm already, although not quite as warm this morning as it has been.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg - all eaten and enjoyed. I did get pork steaks out to defrost but they haven't defrosted properly as they are in the fridge, so not sure what we'll be having for dinner. I'll probably pick up a packet of fresh sausages on my way home from work and do a full english - and swap tonight and tomorrow nights' meal.
Yesterday work was beyond manic, we had a queue from when we opened the doors and this lasted virtually all morning. The telephone's had calls stacked pretty much all day - customers were waiting 30+ minutes to speak to someone - so customer's not happy and not enough staff either and alot of those put under continued pressure and stress. There's stuff going on at the moment and it doesn't seem like it's going to improve, meanwhile staff are not being supported such a shocking way to run a business. Hoping today will be less stressful.
I'm hoping to get a wash load done and pegged out on the line before I leave for work as it's great getting everything line dried.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks BTDT for starting us off.
Got an appointment yesterday for Mr TA. Was supposed to be with the doctor we saw last Monday but when we got there it wasn't!! Another **** up! Anyway all was well as we had been put with the doctor we first saw about the gastroparesis problem so we didn't need to cover old ground. There is no miracle cure (as we had already been told) so keep on with the same tablets as they are helping the little food he is managing to get down pass through the stomach. He continues to loose weight and muscle loss has speeded up the neuropathy, giving rise to a lot of pain in his legs and abdomen and his mobility is far worse than it was. He is 69 and he is looking like an old man, Blood tests today and the doctor is going to liaise with his other consultants to get their input. I just feel helpless he is going downhill so fast.
Nothing else to waffle on about as life isn't much fun these days. Hope everyone has a good day and ((HUGS)) for all who need/want them. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread BTDT, hugs to those in need.
Medical appointments this morning, where the nurse will tell me I'm old and fat, like I didn't know that already, then a trip to the park with dgd.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -

Thank youI intended to post but the change of routine meant I didn't quite get round to it

Hollyharvey That's good newsJust a little warning (not really a warning but I can't think of the right word!) - when my limping was at it's very worst, my left leg was doing most of the work and there was muscle wastage in my right leg – still is, a little bit. For weeks the exercises feel pointless and that there's no improvement but keep up with them (I gave up a couple of times, all that effort for nothing, or so it seemed), it took a while but I slowly started to notice a change. No patience, me

I'vs been going out at about 7.30am for a walk lately. It's too hot for Scampi by 9am, though the back garden doesn't get any sun til mid-morning so he potters around out there when we get back. I didn't realise how many people rode bikes to work and school so it's been interesting, lol. He's been great actually, but he's getting through far too many treats for my liking
I've got a shopping delivery coming at around 10am, once that's put away I'll ponder dragging the Dyson upstairs – if it's not too hot by thenI've washed an old quilt and I'm going to use the filling for stuffing for little crochet things, the first thing I'm going to make is a Christmas tree. If it works out, I'll be making a whole forest of them

Morning all
Looks like another nice day here although a bit breezier, off to work for me its very quiet atm as its too hot for people to come to us so we are looking for things to fill our time.
Not sure about dinner tonight there is mince or pork chops in the fridge so probably one of those, I might do a spag bol we have not had one for a while, although it might be too hot for that, I will see what the weather is like later.
Washing to do later and a sweep through later, although it is too hot to do a lot of housework.
Right better get on have good days all xx
Sending hugs to Mr TA (wish there was something I could do to help xx )0 -
