I got rid of my sky after many years I only miss the footie but only a bit. I bought a new sony Bravia withe freeview installed and moved the Sky box up to the bedroom and through a booster to all the other TVs in the house. I was paying nearly £40 a month which is a hell of a saving now, they offered me all sorts of incentives but I told them no maybe when HD is free I might go back might.

Oh I didn't realise that so if I decide to cancel and just have freesat I wouldn't be able to record any programmes?
'Fraid so. Sky know the value of the recording facility, so they only offer the recording facility to paying subscribers. If you want to record you have two options. Sky+ with a subscription, or get yourself a Personal Video Recorder with built in Freeview receiver, which you wont need a subscription for."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0
