Well done ATB :T:T:T
That's rubbish, YL. A"best friend" ( or so I thought) did that to me a couple of years ago. It still upsets me to think about it, especially as I really did consider her to be one of my closest friends. I know I didn't say what she said I did, but sometimes the moral high ground is a tough place to be.
Well done all slinkies. My scales are showing no change, which is better than a gain. Just 1/2 stone down from January, so ideas and willpower definitely need to be bucked up.
Today...drum roll please...I. Have. Flown. Please don't all faint at once:rotfl: I have completely cleaned out the utility room, including behind the fridge, freezer and washing machine. The contents of the work surfaces are now on the kitchen table  I am determined that it will not all go back, but currently I am at a loss just where it will all go. But if Piggers can play tetris on a large scale I surely should be able to manage a table's worth.0 -
Fayolle, your half stone is here if you want it back. I am now my heaviest ever. I need to do something about it before size 16 becomes the norm but there are still 4 slices of wedding cake in the cupboard. The cake cost £800 so I'm not throwing out even a crumb!
The hotspots are almost sorted and I've done 15 minutes in the garden. About to do another 15.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Prob lurking next week, heat is literally killing me.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Congratulations ATB! Great news.
Thanks for all the kind words about my so called "friend". Turns out she heard half a conversation, put two and two together and assumed that I had said something nasty about her. She then went on to tell other people. She has known me for years and that's what hurts. Why didnt she just challenge me before spreading it about? I know she has had some difficult stuff going on in her life and is feeling a bit vulnerable but I am the one who has stuck by her and done everything I can to help.
So hot here. Sorry, I know we are not supposed to moan but I have stuff to do. Have tidied and dusted our bedroom, sorted washing, been to the shop for a couple of things. Paperwork to do for DH but seriously considering a nap first.0 -
I hung out 2 loads of washing and folded the 2 which were dry..
I decluttered some fruit down my throat..
I'n so tired.. and cold.. and need to do dinner I guess..
Moomin out and the 2 smalls are asleep.. the other 2 are still bickering sporadically.. if they think I'm having this over summer they can think again!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
LW hope you feel better soon.
YSL feel free to moan on here.
Piggery how come you're cold?
Did another 15 mins in garden, made DH some lunch and have since done nothing, which will continue apart from making dinner later.
See you all tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Nervous times this morning.
Got up after spending the night sleeping down the wrong end of the bed (with the cat) because the tower fan wasn't pushing enough air out to reach my side.
When Himself got up, he brought the fan down and announced that he was going to take it apart to 'fix it' _pale_ He threatened it yesterday, but I didn't really think it was going to happen.
I frantically searched online for an instruction booklet. And downloaded it just in time to say that it's one screw to take the grille off, rather than all the other screws which are probably essential to its continued function.
At that point, it was handed over to me because attempting to lever out the grill with a screwdriver wasn't sounding like a great idea - I use the principle that most electronic items are assembled by tiny handed ladies in distant countries, so tried to think of how they would put it together (couple of squeezes round the side and a snap into place all in one movement as it stood on a bench).
So grille out, and as I was brushing out six years of ownership, neglect and sharing its airspace with the Hairiest Cat in the World, the breakers in the house consumer board trip with a THUNKKKK.
I freeze on the spot in horror and look over to where the fan had previously been plugged in. It's unplugged. Either this is witchcraft or something else has gone wrong just as I'm up to my ears in electrical equipment. It's getting hotter in the room the longer the fan is off. The cat, who was laying on the coffee table, has now trickled off it to lie in a puddle of fluff on the floor. If this fan doesn't work anymore, never mind instant painful death, there will be a slow death of hot and sleepless nights for me. And possibly a quick, painful one for him for deciding to take the blasted thing apart in the middle of a heatwave.
I (nicely) request Himself's presence. Long story short, after a bit of problemsolving (and explaining to him how to reset trip switches - including how if the kitchen circuit and the RCD are both tripped, you need to rest both of them), the kettle had just died on him.
Bit of reassembly and Himself vacuuming up the feline detritus later and it's switched back on.
He is now sleeping on the settee wearing Hawaiian print shorts and a vaguely coordinating Hawaiian print shirt that isn't done up properly, so is flapping gently around his belly like a tropical birdie's wings in the strong breeze from the now invigorated fan whilst I finish off the online order for a cheap kettle.
He's such a catch. :rotfl:I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
