May have got myself into a situation.

The OP has simply been given factual answers about the situation detailed in the first post. If that is being perfect that's great. Far better than talking a lot of gonads.
You don't even know which thread is being discussed.0 -

In terms of not committing fraud then yes I suppose I am little Ms Perfect. Wow, I’m so offended0 -

I said I had posted into this thread in error. That doesn't change the fact that doing work whilst on benefits and not reporting it is fraud.0 -

However, the stiff moral spine has not thought of this-the OP stated that this was cash in hand work.
All of a sudden his/her NI number is on a payslip. Alarm bells are ringing. Perhaps the payslip is fake. Deductions have been taken but not necessarily forwarded to where they should be going. Happened to me once.
And who would check. Certainly not the OP.0 -

Mind it was years ago.
So fraud is ok then and you advocate people to do it, on the off chance they MAY get away with it?
And before you start we are not discussing tax evasion etc as that is not relevant to this thread.0 -

Firstly give them a ring tomorrow and advise them you have been doing a week or two of temporary work, you have tried to call the DWP on your time restricted breaks in the job but was unable to get through due to the long queues getting through on the automated phone lines and you was not able to call before or after work as the lines are closed. Remember the average time it takes the DWP to answer JSA enquires is 20-45 minutes, more at lunchtime and after 4pm. Also you had a limited budget on your pay as you go phone.0

And you are making the error of assuming that employers who pay cash in hand are employing people illegally. There is nothing illegal about employing someone cash in hand. All that means is that your wage will be in cash. Not cheque. Not bank transfer. It does not mean "undeclared to HMRC".0 -

Seriously? The OP commits fraud, and your completely unevidenced "defence" is that it's probably the employer committing fraud? These days, obtaining an NI number for an employee is as easy as entering their details into the live HMRC system when processing them for employment / payroll.

Easy to find peoples NI number-is the employer a psychic?0
