Morning all,hope all is well,
Went out pretty early dog walking so it was cooler for my big beastie. It was lovely with a bit of a breeze.I dont think I 'll go out today.I popped into town yesterday after taking DGS to nursery school & got some bread and salady bits.I got some Bury Black pudding so I'll bung that in the air fryer and serve with poached egg and hollandaise sauce/salad tonight.Nice and quickIt was so hot on the bus,and then I sat out eating my lunch.I fell asleep when I came back inside
One good thing about old stone cottages, cool inside in summer.

Looks like another hot one here. We now have more fires in the area with a place called Winter Hill going the same way as Saddleworth you can smell it even though its a good 20 miles away.

We're only 5 miles or so from Winter Hill, less as the crow flies, but the fire is on the other side of the hill so cant see it from here..DSons went to the pub for the match and they saw it burning.Such a shame & The Woodland trust bought a stretch of the moorland & surrounding woodland last year and have been doing a lot of work replanting etc. They had fire officers coming to help from Cumbria at early light. What a jobit must be draining in heat like this. Never thought I'd be heard saying we need rain ! but we do.
Hope your headache goes Nelski and you soon feel better x
Snoozer- yes the mast is still there, and I heard a local report last night saying it could be affectedbut nothing since.
I moved some of the pots round in the back garden, now the plants are well established they needed spreading out and some putting in a shadier part. Not heard anything yet about the ongoing back garden/street saga- hope no news is good news.We have really been enjoying the space since 'conifer lady' put her fence up & made it very private. Strangely enough I heard next door sat out yesterday, even though they're the ones who want it all opening up;)
Right,off to do something usefulxx

Thanks for the thread Holly, hugs to all those in need.
I gave in yesterday evening and gave the neighbours cat a tin of sardines and a bowl of water, CHS was fretting that it was hungry.
General pottering today and shopping for the weekend.
Tomorrow I'm feeding DS's cats and babysitting DD2's girls, her son is camping with DS.
Have a good day everyone.

good afternoon chums and a very hot afternoon it is hardly a breath of air at all. History club was nice and we had delicious cup cakes home made by our lovely hostess .
Its Jacks leaving prom tonight and he has his new suit to wear and he looks absolutely gorgeous in it He even bought a bow tie to go with it and he has a touch of the James Bond about him.DD will take some photos of him looking smart as by September he will turn into an untidy student at Uni for three years
Tomorrow I am off down to Faversham to see my sis-in-law and we are going to her local hostelry for a meal in the evening and a good long natter. Be nice to have a catch-up with her.
Only 7 more weeks until our family holiday and we are counting the days off now Then we will be back on our beloved Isle of Wight for a fortnights rest and relaxation.
Wimbledon starts next week and I always enjoy that
Have a good weekend chums what ever you are doing

It has been really hot here and I told a dd I would get the 12.45 bus to York to meet her. I got there around 12.40 and ended up standing in the heat for over half an hour. I eventually realised I had started to feel faint so walked home, had a cold drink and phoned dd to explain and say I would get the bus tomorrow morning when it should be cooler. I keep forgetting that what is pleasant weather for a short walk is exhausting when standing around in full sunshine.
A cousin and his partner have just adopted a baby girl so I found a pretty outfit in Debenham's sale online and have just wrapped it up ready to post tomorrow. It is so warm I don't feel hungry so let's hope that helps the diet. Had bacon, tomatoes, beans, wholemeal toast and an egg for a late brunch and will have a chop with gherkins and tomatoes in a few minutes.
I have been browsing baby things online and found a really fancy baby bath and changing mat that I want to keep at my house so dd has less to cart around when she comes over so ordered it.

You must have been so proud of your lovely grandson.
Nelski
Could you be a bit dehydrated and maybe need a drink with sugar in it?
Hugs to all0
