Hi I informed universal credit that there has been a change in my circumstances from 12feb that I've been caring 35hrs she made a change to my claiment commitment and said I'd get the carer element on top of universal credit
I have now had a payment of £64.60 carers allowance? For 23 July
I'm confused as I thought I'd be getting carers element paid on top of universal credit?
The carers allowance is less a week than universal credit
    I'm confused AGAIN
    Please can you help

    See post 23.

    Still confused Alice
Thought I'd get universal credit £317.82 plus carers element £156.45 =£474.27 month

Carers allowance £64.60 wk ( £258.40) month plus carers element £156.45= £414.85 month
    I'm confused

You will get separate payments for carer's allowance and universal credit.

Your total income will be £474.27 per month.
i.e as you say " universal credit £317.82 plus carers element £156.45 =£474.27 month".
This is the total income you are entitled to under UC, the UC calculation will top up any other income you may receive (i.e CA) to get you up to this applicable amount.

If you are receiving CA payments separately to UC, then your UC calculation will take this income into account.
Your UC amount will then be UC entitlement of £474 less the CA income.
Per Post 23, this will give you £194pm UC payment. Plus you will have the CA of £64.6pw.
That gives you £474 in total each month.

If you don't receive CA payments, you will get UC of £474pm as you have stated.

As I told you in thread 31 received a payment £64.60 bank girl credit insurance number DWP CA on Fri
Then today received £852.31 bank giro credit insurance number DWP CA
Not received a letter but think could it be carer element backdated?
Thought the carer element would been paid by universal credit UC not carers allowance CA?
    As I'm on universal credit?

It sounds like it's the carer element, it should have been paid by UC. You could ring DWP to ask what it's for. All future payments will be added onto to your UC. The Carers Allowance will continue to be paid separately.
