Specsavers con?

Trouble is this is what you get when you go to specsavers where everything is a paid option.
Yes I would say they !!!!ed up by not informing you and should chaneg the lense just for the extra you would have originally paid.
Next time use a decent place where none of the things spesavers charge for cost extra.0 -
They've offered to try again at getting the lenses to fit, let them. If you don't want to do that then pick different frames, they're pretty good at letting you do that.0

Thank you people, for your input. I am still wondering if they can legally not produce what they have promised.0

I don't have a very strong prescription but I still need to go for thinner lens option to keep the weight down and importantly make them fit in the type of Oakley frames I'm fond of, without them sticking out.
In your situation I'd argue for the upgrade to thinner for free, and if that failed I'd pay up and be glad of the wisdom for next time.
Even more wisdom from buying (same) frames cheaply on the net and getting the glazed with good lenses from one of the many online re-glazers. I'm sure there will be a thread on here somewhere listing them.0 -

You keep saying 'legally'. What have the 'legally' not produced. Does he not have the stated number of spectacles with the correct lens in them. Can your husband see properly with them on. The fact you don't like how they look with the lenses in doesn't make them illegal.0 -
The crux is is it unreasoonable for the lenses to protrude from the frame I personally don't think so unless they gave you assurance that their would be not be.
Prescription lenses work by being thicker in some places than others! - So all lenses will protude to a certain extent.
But they have offered to send them back and get the lab to remake so why not do that?. Then if they still come back with an issue take it from their.
The presciption is only one aspect of the thickness of lenses. Also frame size pupil centraion and whether it is a rimless / supra will affect the issue.
If you were my patient I would also proably send back and remake but would not offer thinner lenese F.O.C
Echoing this. I'm very interested to know what his prescription is and what the frame looks like.
I think I would certainly consider what the factory can do. If not, maybe change the frame to the same frame as the other one if you have found that one to be ok. It's good that they've given you a couple of options to chose from, rather than telling you to pay more straight away.0
