I went to school with a girl who was convinced that if a full bottle of wine had 12% alcohol volume once half the bottle had been consumed then the remaining wine would be just 6% alcohol. She now runs customer services for a (soon to be huge) supermarket chain. Not Lidl though.0

The young lady's resume who wrote this letter tells its own story I'm afraid.

I was once having a drink with a friend who after drinking 4 glasses of jack Daniels @40% proof was convinced he'd had 160% alchahol.

No different to saying a Big Mac is made with 100% UK beef.
Yes it is - because of the perception - Everyone KNOWS McD are referring ONLY to the meat part and not to the bun - Companies cant hide behind semantics anymore, they have to advertise with clarity - You are no longer allowed to advertise a Tin of Salmon and fill it with baked beans and indicate this in small print

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
I can confirm that the item is made from 100% cotton and is 35% cotton. This means that 35% of the t-shirt is 100% cotton.
I hope this helps.
Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH
