Didn't realise I was buying from China - now can't get refund

I bought clothes from a website called "Dresslink"which cost around £250.
The website said that you could return things but you would be responsible for the cost of postage. I had no idea that the company was based in China though and it doesn't seem to say this anywhere on the website. The first problem I had was I was asked to pay some kind of import tax which I was not expecting. But the bigger problem is all of the clothes are complete rubbish and so I need to send them back and:
1) it cost me around £30 to get them shipped to China; and
2) I have just got this message from the shipping company "The consignee will not pay the duty/taxes of 101.65USD, please advise if you will pay this". I can't spend another $100 on this! Surely there should have been warning about this on the website?! I feel like I have been completely swindled. I have since found tons of terrible reviews of the company where people have experienced the same problem and the company refuses to refund things even when they do arrive back in perfect condition. What should I do?
Thanks for any help you can give

Research before you buy.
Always look for contact details an address and phone number for a start, even then it’s sometimes fake .

How did you find the site?0 -
Did you pay by credit card? Ask your card company for a charge-back.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
