Football matches can be bough to view on uefa.com and other sites in a compleatly legal way. Sky sports is no longer the only source for sports now. And dont forget Eurosports on digital tv there are more alternatives now totality.
I'm talking about channel choice though. If you have Sky, and say "I don't like the choice" and sign up for Virgin, you're not really getting anything different.
You're right about watching games online though, and Eurosport is still vastly underrated for coverage of matches/sports some may consider to be less appealing.0 -

I'm not sure I get what you mean by that. These MS forums are about more than just digital TV choices, but I pay Sky because I prefer what they can offer me in terms of choice, reliability etc over Virgin or Freeview.0 -

I have a valid subscription to another "satellite" provider of which IS all perfectly legal!
Sorry, I don't understand... Why are you being so secretive? What satalite provider do you use? Is it a private club nobody else can know about?
Maybe you could enlighten us all, so we don't have to pay the huge costs of Sky and/or Setanta!!0 -
If you are quite happy paying the way over the odds to watch sport and endless repeats that Sky cough up then thats your perogative.
Each to their own as they say....You are happy and i,m happy with the services that we pay for but please don,t think Sky is the be all and end all for people because they are not as i think they have too much control over television rights in this country as it is and that WILL be a bad thing for the UK in the long run!0 -

I'm assuming you're using one of the satellites aimed at Mainland Europe or something similar in the way some pubs do for the football. if that's the case, good for you. But I dont just think about the sports - I've the rest of the family to consider, plus as well as price, other factors come into it.
I'm not arguing - and if you're happy with your system that's great - but for me, I don't subscribe to Sky or Setanta just for the sport.0 -
The whole point is I am NOT happy paying over the odds for Sky Sports! I would love a cheap alternative to this, with as much coverage.
uefa.com seems good for champions league (£2 per game), but what about premiership?
Also, I too have to think of the family... my mrs and kids have channels they watch.
Ideally I want the base package with Sky (keep them happy), and a cheap alternative for the sports...
You'llnever, I obviously don't understand, so maybe you could help by explaining, which is surely what these forums are about?!!0 -

Yeah it was originally. Some cross wires I think.
Even at £10 a month, Setanta will cost me £120 a year. That's still less than (as far as I know anyway) the equipment you need to watch TV from overseas, even if it is FTA.0
