Friendliest Bank

I the old days when I had to visit the bank to cash my weekly cheque the Midland staff were lovely and Mr Roberts, the manager, was everyone's idea of a friendly bank manager in the cupboard.
Now that branch has closed, I!!!8217;ve changed to Nationwide and rarely visit. Staff are lovely there, too. I taught two of them.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Which is the most friendly ? I find HSBC and Barclays to have good helpful staff in-store.
I neither know nor care.
From my limited personal interaction with my bank(s) I expect accuracy and efficiency. I don’t need friendliness.
I get that from my family & friends. And occasionally from people on here:)0 -
Agreed - nothing annoys me more than when i ring up First Direct and they start asking you how your weekend was and what I'm doing today0

Surely that is branch specific rather than bank specific?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. First direct comes out on top pretty consistently on polls/sureveys. E.g: https://www.which.co.uk/money/banking/bank-accounts/best-and-worst-banks-a3q5d8c6dj7y

You get friendly and non-friendly staff in any one branch. My local Barclays has a mix. Depends who you get.0

Yep, in all of the completely spurious and unscientific polls, First Direct come out top. They demonstrate that - with no statistical validity whatsoever - everyone who can be bothered to vote to say that First Direct are wonderful will vote to say that First Direct are wonderful. Of course this is perfect, because the question is ultimately meaningless, so offering this as an answer fits the bill.0 -
stuff friendly staff ones that answer the phone are the best0
