Royal Jordanian - Any successes?

Hi - I've contacted both RJ and CAA as on initial contact RJ did not respond to our email. Our flight for 4 people was delayed for 5+ hours for a technical fault meaning we are eligible for over £2k compensation. However RJ are not on the resolver tool and I've searched this site and they have not come up at all. I just wondered if anyone has had any success. I did contact them a second time using the template letter, and they have finally responded and have said we are not eligible but the reason cited is incorrect as it states our connecting flight was not missed - this was not the point at all as we didn't actually have a connecting flight - we were staying a night at a Dead Sea resort and were then travelling onto to Aqaba. I have responded to them citing the EU Reg reference again and have advised that the CAA are also handling the complaint.

If Aqaba was the final destination on your ticket then it is the arrival time at Aqaba that matters. How was your ticket booked and how long was the layover scheduled to be?0

Hi Kazzabob,
If your journey was broken by a nights stay, en-route, it will not come under the EU regulations and no compensation will be due. It cannot be classed a a single journey if it was broken up by a night, a week or a month etc
From what you say it sounds like your flight the following day was delayed by 5 hours due to a technical fault, if I understand it correctly.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
I think the OP was delayed from the EU to (I assume, given the airline) Amman. However, if the ticket was EU-AMM-AQJ, it would be the arrival at AQJ that matters for compensation purposes and any delay into AMM would be irrelevant.0

We need far more details from the OP, times dates flight numbers etc. Please. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
