Damnit!! Internet ate my post again!! 2 days in a row.
All is well in Glasgow.
Happy days BTDT!!0 -
Csarina, I hope your GD is better soon.
BTDT thank goodness it's nothing more sinister, are they planning to drain the cysts?
I did finish cleaning the upstairs yesterday, despite the heat. Now for the downstairs. DH is going to play golf with DS so I hope they are ok in the heat. I've got a hair appointment so DH will drop me off and I will walk back - it's two miles but half along country footpaths.0 -
Morning everyone,
Busy day ahead as am picking DN up to take her over the stables for a riding lesson, it was her birthday present, then she is coming back to ours for a late lunch in the garden. She has had a rough time lately with a work situation so hopefully this will cheer her up.
We have a lot of birds in the garden and with no cats within walking distance they live a relatively stress free existence, our millstone water feature is a real oasis for them and is used as a bath & drinking station. We were saying last night that we can’t remember the last time that we had any serious rain, East Anglia can be very dry.
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning all,
up at the crack of dawn (before it got too hot anyway) to sort out the garden rubbish. Need to bleach wash the side of the house later as it smells of dog.
Gers Im glad yesterday went well for you.
TA No continuity thats true but maybe a fresh set of eyes will be useful. I hope so.
Redruby I'd love to put water out for the birds but my neighbour has 2 cats and they are brilliant bird/mice/squirrel/fish catchers and they dont always take their 'catch' home with them. Im really not fond of cats (wouldnt hurt one though).
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good morning everyone. It was foggy here early on, and it's still grey, but it shows signs of brightening.
I seem to have been awake for most of the night - i don't think it was the heat as I've got an electric fan by the bed which is a life saver in this weather, I was just awake. I nodded off at about 6.15 and didn't wake till just before 8, that's a late start for me.
Yesterday was hot and sunny, it was brilliant to have some nice weather.
We went to the blue and yellow shed, and managed to get a replacement mattress for the sofa bed in the spare room. It was a bit of luck as it was the last one and the range is being discontinued. Also it was reduced by £25, so very MSE.
Nipped into The R*nge and got two new cushions, I'm spending money like nobody's business.
I've got a hospital appointment this morning for one of my many chronic health problems - hope they aren't running late. Though if they are I'll just have to sit there. I don't read in case I get so absorbed I don't hear my name being called.
I people watch though - wondering where that lady got those nice shoes, why does that person look so glum, have they got problems, and so on. Sometimes I worry in case I stare at people too intently - one day someone is going to ask me what I'm looking at!! If anyone is ever in a waiting room in my area and you see this mad old woman staring at you it'll be me. I'm harmless though.
Should also do a bit of food shopping today, i'll fit that in at some point.
Quiz tonight as usual. We've been missing for two weeks so it will be catch up time with the regulars.
Anyway, hope everyone has a s good a day as they can. Take care folks.0 -
Morning
Another day in sunny paradise here
Felt pretty rotten yesterday for some reason. Tired all day and the worst eye headache. Not sure what that was all about feel a bit better today but still woke up tired. Could go back to bed to be honest but I need to run a phone interview this morning and I really don't want to waste another gorgeous day.
Nurses came and told me the stitches were dissolvable but some haven't gone yet so looked like they needed removing
Had a lovely smoked mackerel salad last night with some crusty bread and strawberries for pud which Ill probably have again today to save freezing the fish.
csarina hope all goes well with your grand daughter that must be so worrying
Have a good day all :A0 -
Morning ((((((((((huga)))))))))) if you need one.
No news re DGD last I heard she was waiting to see the Drs. re the result of her scan etc and had to have a special blood test.
Fingers crossed please this morning, am taking my little car for its MOT. They have changed the goal posts re diesels mine has a particle filter, so am hoping that the emmissions are ok. If the car does not pass I do not know what we will do, our lives will be severely curtailed. IOW holiday will go for a start.
Its going to be very hot again, OH is restricted to an hour in the garden. We had to water heavily last night everywhere was so very dry.
I will be watching the tennis and knitting. I have to source some delicate pink fabric for GGD's quilt. I have time to get it done, but do not want to rush it.
Egg chips and beans tonight for supper, we have a few strawberries left so will eat them for dessert.0 -
Good morning all,
Looking to my right I can see wonderful blue sky out of my office window, hoping I can have a tea break outside at some point as I didn't get to yesterday. Did manage some time sat in the garden with a book when I got home though so that helped after a crazy work day.
Holly I am so envious of your seaside trips! Enjoy your obligatory ice cream
Csarina I hope the treatment for your DGD goes well and she is better soon. She is a similar age to me, scary stuff. Fingers crossed for the MOT too.
camelot, hope today is better for you
TA more good wishes coming your way for some relief for Mr TA
RR - water dish and feeders topped up before I left for work this morning!
BTDT - so pleased you had good news
Hugs/spoons/thoughts to anyone who needs/wants them.
My car desperately needs cleaning (inside and out) but I am just too hot to be doing that, even in the evenings, so that is my excuseNeed to help OH pack tonight as he is off on a work trip for two days and will forget the obvious things if I don't check! Sausages in the fridge so may have those, nice and easy.
I hope those of you who like the sun get to enjoy some of it, and those who don't manage to stay cool
Have a good day
Emma

Morning folks.
After all the stress of yesterday I got a headache! First time in years, so I had a cup of tea and a slice of 'forgotten' cake. Tonight will be wine night.
I lay awake for ages last night, think it was that huge bright moon right outside my bedroom window. Today is warm, the sun may burn through the white clouds with a bit of luck.
Talking of luck - csarina, my fingers are crossed for your car. BTDT - great news!
Early doors this morning one of my neighbours (the woodman) turned up with a trailer full of wood for my winter supplies. He also took away the chopped down branches from the back garden tree which had a hair cut on Saturday. Now I've got wood which is very dry, wood which is perfect and wood which needs to season. More than enough for next winter as I'm fairly frugal with it.
I've made some cheese and onion mix for sandwiches, I took a notion for it yesterday, and some egg mayo mix too. All kind of organised then for the next few days.
Now I wish everyone a very happy Tuesday, especially those having a tough time.0 -
Deleted_User hopefully it will pass, ours is a 2004 diesel, so really ancient and it passed last week , just needed a new bit of exhaust on the back.0
