Am in the doghouse
When the rumours flew that 3 were stopping there £15 deals I bought a £15 texter for DH.
He isn't happy.....he says the 75mins isn't enough (if he went over a bit it wouldn't matter at 10p/min tbh but he doesn't see this....).
I actually think he doesn't like the sexy 6120 TBH. I love mine but he is a die hard old nokia fan- his last phone was a nokia 1100 after all:rolleyes: . I think the buttons are too small and he hasn't got used to txting with it.
we could double up to the £20 txter plan, but I don't think this will do really. It wont give him many more mins and (though he wont admit it) wont get rid of the phone.
I see a potential solution to give DD1 his phone for Xmas (we spend £10 on her virgin P+G at the moment) though we would be a bit paranoid about her loosing it etc...It would have to be insured.
Then he would be free to have a new phone either on the £15 mix+match tarriff (much better deal as calls to me would be free).
Or even go back to his beloved dinosaur phone on say an O2 simplicity tarriff??
I guess he would like 100-150 mins and the same txts (though I still think his 75mins should be enough if he'd txt people- he doesn't send txts as often as he used too- catch 22 as the phone is a prob to him etc).
Ahh.....yes the other problem- he has ported his no to it, can he port it out again and get a new 3 sim or is he stuck??
Thanks for your help

Unfortunately you won't be able to port his number out of this contract without cancelling the contract (and you'd have to pay up the remainder of the line rental!)
Looks like he's stuck with it unfortunately maybe buy a better phone on PAYG, give daughter old phone & PAYG sim and let DH have shiny new phone with contract?Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
I rather thought that would be the case- him and his precious number!!
I shall suggest he just gets on and uses it as needed and we see how much "over budget" he gos in the next month. I suspect he does have enough mins if he txts as much as he used too, and doesn't ring instead:rotfl: He just needs practice...Also this past month was a bit of a blip with half term and me being ill as well accouinting for an unusual number of calls.0 -
Thought about asking '3' if they will change you over to their new tarrif?
mention how as an existing customer you want the same deal as a new customer.
they may be able to swap you over?

pS) most networks allow you to change to any existing tariff which they offer, so long as you remain on the same, or higher talk-plan.
so it may be worth saying you are willing to go onto an £18-mth tariff if they say you can't move to a £15 new one... worth a go?Information provided is offered as a guide, and should not be deemed to be 100% accurate/correct.
