This morning is the first one for a while that I have left the house and it hadn't been raining. What a day to be alive!
Seriously, a calm weather day outside really makes my mood a little better.
Not a lot to report - pay day is tomorrow so I'll be able to do my review and reset my pots ready for March. All is looking good for now.
We have managed to save over £3k this month (a lot of this was from a build up of husbands overtime that was owing) but I wont know the final total until tomorrow. Will update on here then and set a goal for March savings.
Otherwise, life is as chaotic as usual. There's a non stop mental list of things to remember and it's tough! I'm just about keeping up, but the balance is precarious. It could tip and collapse at any moment.
Also, I woke up with a really scratchy throat this morning so I'm expecting to get sick any day now. It explains why I was feeling exhausted all through my workout yesterday (unusually so).
Hope all is well with all you MSEers!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

February 2020 ROUNDUP!
Spent some time this morning working through our February finances to see how everything stacked up. Not massive progress, but all progress is good progress. Here's the lay of the land...
Balances and paid amounts
Loan: Paid off
CC1: £4,271.78 / £4,736.59 (£464.81 or 10% paid off)
CC2: £3,284.58 / £5,031.14 (£1,746.56 paid off - 35% paid)
Total: £7,556.36 / £25,619.44 (£19,706.29 paid off, 77% paid)
Savings- £3,550 in savings (saving hard for extension contingency, hence why payments above are less than usual)
- £200 in clothing/ gifts account...not touched it for Jan or Feb
May need to this coming month...
- £200 in Christmas saver (restarted in November)
- £200 in credit union (restarted in November)
Days until pay day: Feb pay day is today, so i'll start counting to March payday - 32
Loan payments left: NONE!!! (And I'm keeping this on here for a while!)
Childcare payments left: 5

Hi HG
Great to see a smiley face rather than figures against that loan heading
Fantastic savings amount as well. Hope the MOT hasn't thrown up any nasty surprises.
I'm the mental list keeper of the house which used to be fine, but my brain cells definitely aren't as agile the older I get lol. Prevention is better than cure so make sure you take care of yourself to avoid coming down with any lurgies. Have a great day. xx0 -
Thanks Tea
Nice to see you in here too!
MOT cost... *durmroll*... £50! The price of the MOT, no work needed done. Phew! What a change it makes to not get a several hundred pound bill for a car!
I'm feeling rough tonight so i suspect I'm too late to prevent. Just need to treat myself kindly now with tea and blankets where possible (looking at my weekend, it's not going to be very possible!).Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Hello MSEers!
Another busy day/ weekend ahead for me and the family - when will it end? I actually prefer being busy and having things to do, otherwise we just fritter away time. But it'd be nice to have some chill out time just for me at some point. Really must schedule that in.
Organisation
I've been a really good girl this week - updated my planner/ diary and it helped no end with productivity yesterday. I've kept up with the washing, cooked from scratch every night this week. It makes a change! Normally I'm frantically trying to achieve everything and end up achieving nothing.
Lists help me to focus, otherwise my head is like a plate of spaghetti meatballs.
Money, money, money, monaaaaay. MONAAAAY!
So far, money is fine this month. All is coming in and going out as expected so nothing new to report.
Squirelled way £253 into savings since no council tax again this month, bringing savings total to: £3,803. I'm aiming to save another £2k this month but will need to really focus to achieve this.
On a not so nice note, our Dys0N has been on its last legs for AGES and I think it's finally given up the ghost. I need to do some shopping around for a replacement. I know which brand I'd like, just need to decide which model and find the best price for it.
Renovation plans
Our renovation plans have been loosely scheduled to start in a month's time. This is super exciting, but we are still going through the process of raising the finance for it (thanks laborious mortgage company process). It's a long and taxing process, but it's looking promising that we will be able to fund a good chunk of it through our mortgage. Just need a valuation to determine our LTV and therefore how much they'll let us lift from the equity.

Fingers crossed for the renovation finance. The paid off loan is just brilliant.
I'm also going back to using my planner. I find planning at night for the next day always pays off.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hi HG
Glad the MOT was a pleasant surprise. The amounts you manage to save are phenomenal. My fingers are also crossed that the finance works out for you re. the renovations.
I can hold a few things in my head but jobs tend not to get done if they're not written down in black and white. It's all to do with the psychology of putting a big fat tick next to them when they're completed
Hope you manage to carve out some time for yourself at some point. xx
