    Today i spent.

£44 in New Look (for £90 worth of items)
    £19 in Primark
    £24 in Matalan
    £5 on eBay

I tried everything on before I purchased it and made sure it went well with the other items that I was considering to make up outfits.

I was beating myself up earlier but then i remembered:

    1. I've finally, at this ripe old age, figured out what shapes, styles and colours suit me
    2. I put many, many things back today that wouldn't have suited or that I wanted just for the sake of it
    3. I considered everything before I purchased
    4. I needed a few things for my work trip away

    and most importantly...

    5. I made a chunk of money on eBay selling a load of my clothes that I no longer wear, and the above purchases are more than covered by that balance.

So, basically, i need to stop feeling guilty. I've actually been resourceful buy making some extra money before spending it on new items that i need .

Wow - all that rambling just to justify my own spending. Eek!

Otherwise, Friday went well for me. Productive at work, got a couple of things checked off my personal to-do list (and added another 15+ on) but feels good to be getting more organised.

Also, I spotted a potential new job opportunity today and have inquired further. I'm not really in the market for a new job, i quite like where I am, but there's no harm in exploring new opportunities. You never know what's out there.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Sounds like you put a lot of thought into your purchases so you need to send those guilty feelings packing.

Always good to keep your mind open to new career opportunities. Quite often it's when we're not looking that something comes our way.

    Have a great weekend. xx
  • No guilt necessary. You funded your new clothes from your old clothes and you are very mindful with purchases. Hats off to you :)

Hello all, it's been quite some time since I last updated on here. Life has been insane lately with work and travel and day to day life. It's actually just the same as always but something had to give to save my sanity. Still another busy couple of weeks ahead then I'm hoping to hide in a dark room for a while :rotfl:

First thing's first. Get the finances in order.

    SEPTEMBER 2019 ROUNDUP!

    Balances and paid amounts
    Loan: £2,105.64 / £15,792.30 (£14,213.97 paid off - 90% paid)
CC1: £4,736.59 / £4,736.59 (£0 or 0% paid off) - this has had the bathroom balance added on so reset it
    CC2: £3,584.58 / £5,031.14 (£1,532.38 paid off - 30% paid)

    Total: £9,026.81 / £25,619.44 (£16,687.42 paid off, 65% paid)

    Good things:
    • 65% of debt paid off
    • Total debt left is dangerously close to the 8ks
    • 4 payments left on the loan :j (90% paid!)
    • Plan for overpayments into the credit card to compensate for it going up to pay for the bathroom.

    Not so good things
    • I've been very disconnected from our finances over the last few weeks due to being so busy. Really need to get back into the swing of keeping my eye on things. It could be looking a lot worse though.

Got lots and lots going on at the minute in work and in personal life, but it looks like a promotion and a decent pay rise is on the horizon! Still negotiating terms and figuring things out, but I'm hoping it makes a significant difference just in time for going into some expensive renovations!

Pay day is only 6 days away and i want to get organised for the month ahead so today i'll be writing a list of what's coming up that we need to pay for, what we need (i.e. ds1 needs new trousers/jeans as he's sprouted again) and I've been loaned a new recipe book so i want to inject some life into our eating habits by writing a new meal plan.

My credit union payout will be coming in two weeks so i want to plan in advance so i can spread the value of that and be almost done when that is gone. Trying to control my Christmas spending massively this year.

We aren't hosting this year, so that'll save us a ton.

    Hope everyone's Friday is good!
